Black Star Labs Chocolate with True Protein WPC

Taste: 10/10
I have been sorely disappointed by most chocolates on the market, but this is phenomenal. Very smooth and in no way overpowering

Mixability: 10/10
Mixing one scoop with either 12oz of water or 12oz skim milk both provided great results. Mixing with either a spoon or shaker bottle produced rapid and complete mix.

Overall: 10/10
Comparing this to the more mainstream WPC’s (Dymatize, ON, etc.) you will not be disappointed upgrading. The flavor is way better and very addictive.

Black Star Labs Fruit Punch with True Protein WPC
Taste: 8/10
I am a big fan or fruit flavored proteins, but this was a little more mild flavor than I was hoping for. Don’t get me wrong, the flavor was good, but I may need to use less water next time.

Mixability: 9/10
Mixing one scoop with 12oz of water in a shaker of with a spoon both did not mix 100% for me.

Overall: 9/10
Still better than any of the “popular” proteins out, but needs to have a stronger flavor.

Black Star Labs Orange Cream with True Protein WPC

Taste: 10/10
You know, I just picked up a pound of this to try it out and I absolutely love it. It is a very mild orange, but it really does taste like a creamsicle. I have even mixed it with plain yogurt (meant to grab the vanilla) and it actually tasted great. This is a welcome surprise.

Mixability: 10/10
Mixing one scoop with either 12oz of water or 12oz skim milk and even yogurt both provided great results. Mixing with either a spoon or shaker bottle produced rapid and complete mix.

Overall: 10/10
Comparing this to the more mainstream WPC’s (Dymatize, ON, etc.) you will not be disappointed upgrading. The flavor is way better and very addictive.

Black Star Labs Vanilla with True Protein WPC
Taste: 9/10
Hmm, I think my expectations were too high here. I am a big vanilla fan and again, it is a mild vanilla, but the chocolate and orange cream trump it. If you are a vanilla fan, you will not be disappointed. It is almost like a french vanilla and nowhere near as sweet as Dymatize. It is also better than ON.

Mixability: 10/10
Mixing one scoop with 12oz of water, milk and in yogurt in a shaker or with a spoon both mixed effortlessly.

Overall: 9/10
Still better than any of the “popular” vanillas, but could have a slightly stronger flavor.

Black Star Labs Watermellon with True Protein

Taste: 10/10
Outstanding, I cannot explain to you how good this is. It is not as intense as Watermelon Xtend, but it is quite refreshing. The smell is out of this world and there is no aftertaste.

Mixability: 10/10
I forgot my shaker cup, so i used a scoop of protein in 6oz of water in a plastic cup and stirred it with a plastic spoon. Stirred for about 30 sec and everything was dissolved

Overall: 10/10
Nothing beats the BSL flavoring. It is just so good. I am so glad to see so many new flavors out there (I also picked up some straw-banana). It covers up WPC, WPI, bulk bcaas, MPI, you name it. I don't know why anyone would suffer through the poorly flavored over priced blends and wpc when you can get it so much cheaper and so much tastier.

im picking up some more TP WPC soon, so idk if ill toss in BSL's or not.. im concerned with the artificial sweetner

premixed, when checking out, i ask for extra flavoring. i have had it both with "normal" and "extra" and i think the extra gives it a really good flavor. i do not like my protein uber sweet, but this is very smooth

as opposed to getting it unflavored? if you use TP's flavoring you still need some kind of sweetener. when you order bsl flavoring, you choose **Plain** from the sweetener catagory.

BSL does make some great flavoring. I'm waiting to try the strawberry-kiwi and raspberry lemonade flavor packs next.

ugh gag me...i had 30 pounds of the fruit punch WPI from them and it was the worst tasting stuff i've ever suffered through. They may have improved the taste of their stuff recently since i got mine last summer, but good grief it was bad.

Excellent reviews though, duly repped.

I'm ordering some BSL flavors, so far, im getting 5lb jugs of chocolate WPC, fruit punch WPC and orange cream WPC, any suggestion on others? you said fruit punch wasn't to good ? maybe a bad batch?

it might have been a bad batch. i actually called and complained that it tasted like crap and they sent me a container of more fruit punch flavoring and basically said to dump the whole thing into my remaining protein powder and see if it was better then. I did, and it just got insanely sweet and syruppy. Blech.

when i ordered the fruit punch, i had some issues too, it tasted too cherry. i have not tried it again since.

another tip is that when ordering from TP, in the comment box, you can state "please use extra [or double] flavoring". I have found that makes the flavor much tastier, but not too sweet
