Since there are a lot of proteins on the market, i figured i would help some ppl out by posting my experiences with certain protein powders. Now im not usually one to whine about taste so i believe my reviews should be pretty straight up. But remember everybody has differnent taste so if ur questioning one of my flavors, by all means do so and if u can, try to get sample packs of one's u would like to try. I know most companies will give u a sample pack on their website if u email them for it. Members feel free to post ur experiences as well with protein powders/gainers.

ON's 100% whey: (choco) This whey is by far the most popular whey on the market and it should be b/c it's cheap, reliable, effective, and taste damn good. I havent tried anything but the choco, but it's one of the best tasting choco flavored proteins on the market. This is a highly recommended protein powder!!! Overall 9/10

ON's 100 Whey: (mint choco chip) I just recently started using this protein a few months ago and its the best tasting ON flavor out there IMO. If your getting tired of the plain ole regular choco flavor then give this a shot. U shouldnt be dissapointed. Overall 10/10

ON's 100% whey MRP: (choco) An ok MRP. Price is hard to beat and taste similar to ON's 100% whey protein but a little thicker and harder to mix and u cant beat the free shaker u get with it. Overall: 7/10

Muscle Milk ( mocha joe, choco, rocky road, vanilla creme). If ur lookin for a variety of flavors then this is ur protein. The best flavor IMO is mocha joe, with vanilla creme coming in a close second. The choco flavored really surprised me cause it sucked. It's too sweet for my liking and I just didnt look forward to downing them like the rest. As far as the rocky road, dont think it's gonna taste like a dip of rocky road ice cream. The taste was very sweet but not as bad as the choco. Overall though a good blend of proteins and a good variety of flavors. Overall: Mocha joe 10/10. Choco 6/10. Rocky road 8/10. Vanilla creme 9/10.

Cytogainer: (Mint choco chip) This is by far the best tasting gainer on the market IMO. It mixes up very well in a shaker cup with no problems and it even has little choco chips in it after u shake it up. As far as nutrition wise, it's one of the best with only 5g of sugar. Overall: 10/10

ON's Serious Mass: (choco) I didnt like this at all. The flavor tasted pretty good it was just too damn thick. It mixed pretty sorry as well. Was like trying to drink water filled with sand. I even tried mixing it with just one scoop and it was still horrible. Not a very good choice IMO. Overall: 3/10

Universals Real gains: (choco) Like serious mass was the flavor was good, just too damn thick and didnt mix worth a damn. Has a good nutrition profile with only 5g of sugar and doesn't use just whey protein as it's protein source. If u can hack it down then it's a pretty good gainer. Overall 4/10(gets one higher b/c of the nutritional value compared to serious mass and N large 2).

Body Fortress whey protein from wal-mart: (choco) This protein wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. For only 12 bucks u cant really beat it if you need a spare protein for the moment. Taste is pretty good and the mixability is ok. Overall: 6/10

Dymatize elite whey ( choco and vanilla) The choco in this flavor is really good and a very close second to ON's choco. It has a good taste that's not too sweet and not too plain. The vanilla on the other hand isnt too bad either but not near as good as muscle milk's vanilla, but if u like vanilla it has a pretty good taste. Overall Dymatize is a very good protein and has a little bit more of a variety then ON's. Either Dymatize or ON is a very good choice for a protein powder. Overall: Choco 9/10. Vanilla 7/10.

Prolabs N large 2: (choco) I dont see what the big deal about this gainer is. Most ppl think it's the be all end all of gainers but it's not. The taste sucked ass but it did mix up better than real gains and serious mass. Nutrition wise not a very good choice b/c of the sugar in it. If you have to get this go with only half the serving at a time. Overall: 3/10

Prolabs Lean Mass Matrix: (cinnammon oatmeal) By far the best tasting MRP on the market. Has a good nutritional value and the price is pretty decent. Overall: 8/10

Nitro Tech ( choco) Im not gonna lie, but this has to be the worse tasting protein on the market. I bought a jug a few years ago and couldnt even finish it and if u know muscletech products then u know they carry a hefty price tag. I really wasted my money on this product. Even if i did like the taste it's way too expensive to keep taking especially with all the new and improved protein powders out there. Not a good protein as far as taste or price IMO. Overall: 1/10

VPX Micellean ( Capp ) The capp is a good tasting casein protein and perfect before bed time. If u like coffee flavor protein powders than this shouldnt dissapoint u. The only thing i dont like about this product is that no matter how hard or long u shake it up it still has a gritty texture to it. Overall though this is a highly recommended casein protein that taste pretty good. Overall: 7/10

Syntrax Nectar ( strawberry kiwi) Ive been flamed alot for not liking the taste of this protein. It basically ruined me as far as fruity flavored protein powders are concerned. I just did not like the taste of this particular flavor. The other flavors im sure are pretty good, but after tryin this i was too scared to try any more flavors. As far as quality goes, u cant beat this whey isolate for the money and mixes quite well. Overall 5/10

GNC's brand 100% whey protein ( choco) I tried this flavor a few years ago also and it really disappointed me. The taste was fairly good it's just that i couldnt get it to mix for anything. There would always be clumps left in it and i just didnt wanna waste time putting it in the blender. Since there have been a 100 better tasting proteins i really dont see any reason buying this plus GNC rips you off. Overall: 1/10

Well that's it for my taste buds. Members feel free to leave ur reviews on what u thought tasted good/bad. I think this thread could really help some ppl out that's lookin for a decent tasting protein powder/gainer.

Ok since i started this thread i have tried three more powders and here is my review:

MRM's Massive Muscle Gainer(choco) The only reason i bought this is b/c bulk nutrition was selling them for 7 bucks so i figured it was a hell of a deal. Nutritional profile isnt that great if you take all four scoops at the same time but i never do that. I was actually quite surprised with this gainer. The taste was decent and so was the texture. Beware though b/c you will have to use a blender. Overall Rating: 6/10

Instone's Intake Performance: (choco) Dont even think about buying this MRP. The taste is pretty decent it's just way too thick. It was literally like tryin to drink sand. Decent nutritional profile with good fats and some good sources of protein. I would never buy a box of these though. Overall Rating: 2/10(just cause i got a packet for free).

San's Myodrive: (choco cake) Decent tasting gainer but as with most it's hard as hell to mix. The only protein source they use is WPC which is a cheap protein for such a high price. Plus it has some creatine in with alot of other crap so they can raise the price. There is no way in hell i would pay 50 bucks for this product. Would not recommend getting. Overall rating: 2/10(just b/c i got a free sample of it)

Dont forget that most companies will send you samples and that's what most of these reviews are from.

heres my two cents worth.

Isopure Zero Carb Alpine Punch: the protein part mixed fine; it got really foamy as do all isolates when shaken, but mixed with a fork there was no problem. the glutamine in it all just clumped and sat at the bottom until the cup was pretty much empty, then all ran into my mouth at once. ugh. as for taste, it was pretty awful i thought. i can't remember sweetener they use, but it tasted funny and there wasn't enough of it anyway. 3/10

VPX Micellean chocolate: same as above for mixability, etc. Taste is a bit weird at first, but you get used to it. Almost too rich in milk, and still tasty in water. I discovered that adding 1 serving of Sesathin per scoop of the powder made it taste a lot better...weird huh? 8/10

Designer Whey chocolate: my old standby here. mixes great, tastes great, etc. overall a solid product, but kinda pricey compared to ON 100% whey. 9/10 simply due to price.

I'm and All The Whey guy, orange is the best followed by strawberry. Their banana isn't too bad but their chocolate is fawking wretched !! It's cheap too, $150 for 25 lbs.

I like homemade weight gainers the best:

2 cups skim milk
2 scoops whey
1 1/2 cups oats
3-4 tbsp. natty pb
Mix in a blender.

I don't use this much anymore because it mixesfat and carbs, and I'm trying to add lean mass. I only use it when I know I'll need the extra cals.

I just tried wheygourmet in peanutbutter chocholate and it is wonderful (if you like that combo). I used it with water, and it tasted great! ON vanillia made me gag and almost puke :excorcist ...through it out!

i personally hate ON protein. to me its some of the shittiest protein out there, bb.com gave it a bad review in comparison to other proteins as well.

any isolate you get is going to taste good from what i have had except gnc protein for some reason. all concentrate, depending on their grade will determine their taste. you get crappy protein, why would they put a huge effort in to make it good, its crappy. if you get a good graded concentrate, they are goign to do what they can to make it taste better to give them that extra edge.

If money is no object WheyGourmet is one of the best tasting brands around. :nosthumbs I'm poor right now so I use Champion Chocolate Pure Whey Isolate. It's about the same price and quality as ON but taste's much better IMHO. The Vanilla is no so good though. : pukey:
