Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | Here is my previous log; I'm moving the rest of my updates to the IMPC forum, since that's the goal I'm shooting for. So, my update for this week so far: Monday -- Went and did cardio. I got 36 minutes on the treadmill, warm up at 8.0 degrees at 2.8mph, then went to 12.0 degrees. I started on 15.0 degrees at about the 20 minute mark, and was going to finish up when all of a sudden my treadmill died. I think someone hit the cord and unplugged it. Man, my butt hurt doing 15 degrees! Tuesday -- Was going to do chest / shoulders / triceps / abs, but when I started falling asleep when sitting in traffic, I just headed home. I probably wouldn't have been able to lift 5lbs with my lack of energy. Wednesday -- Tonight's plan: back / biceps / shoulders. I'm going to make sure I get in my Tuesday workout the rest of the week. I have stuck to my diet, and continue to maintain 171. My goal is to be at 167 by the end of the month. I think it's a doable goal. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 62 | Very nice workouts. I agree the incline treadmill is a great form of cardio; I'm glad EME introduced me to it... at first I was like "huh, WALK on the treadmill? What kind of wussy cardio is this?". WRONG!!! Anyone who can do 20 minutes has very good endurance IMO.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | Thanks, all! Yes, I like Michael's workouts. I'm hoping that by the end of all this I can do 45 minutes straight at the 15% mark! And JJ_Sungirl, use it as motivation. We're all here to help everyone along! Ok, so actual Wednesday update: Got to the gym around 7:45ish, and started on back. I've been doing basically the same weights for each set for the past few back workouts; I was losing a lot of form trying to go up in weight. I got through back, and started on shoulders, and got about halfway through my shoulder workout when the hunger bubble burst. I can see that my new work schedule is going to interfere with my eating schedule; if I can't have that meal 5, then it throws my entire workout off because I get so hungry. Tonight is Cardio Thursday! Hopefully no one will unplug my treadmill, and I might be able to shoot for 20-25 minutes at 15% incline. Scale is still holding at 171. My goal is 169 by the end of the week, so I'd better step it up! |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | Thursday update: 43 minutes on the treadmill, made it 20 minutes at 15% incline and 2.8mph. My legs and butt felt really tight afterwards, which I like. The TVs were off in the gym, so I couldn't get into a show, but I cranked the tunes and made it through it. On Cardio Saturday I think I'm going to shoot for 25 minutes at 15% incline. Scale moved up a bit this morning -- 173. I forgot my lunch yesterday and had to make due with what I could find that closely matched my diet, and last night I went to Publix to get a rotisserie chicken, and as I was standing in line to pay (actually the next one to pay), the deli girl came and said the chicken wasn't fully cooked. Nice of her to take back the chicken, I'd hate to get food poisoning from undercooked chicken, but I was out protein for dinner so my dinner was mostly carby. I have my food today and tonight is steak night, so I should be okay when I weigh in tomorrow morning. Tonight Chris will attempt to kill me while doing legs; last Friday we did legs and while he woke up sore the next morning, I didn't, so his goal tonight will be to have to carry me out of the gym. I will curse his name while we're doing it, but the aftereffects are mostly worth it. |

| IronMass Donator | That's right woman, you will suffer under 'leg workout from hell!' day! 20 minutes at 15% at 2.8 mph is no joke for sure. Keep kicking ass so we can take this Most Improved Couple - nobody stands a chance against Team Psycho! |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | Last night was chest / shoulders/ tri's / abs. My arms felt pretty weak for some reason; they were wobbling all over the place as I tried to do flat DB press and flyes. I managed to keep form, but didn't go up in weight, so I maintained 20lbs on both. I tried to go up to 25lbs on shoulder press, but I could barely get that up TO my shoulders, so no go there, but did manage to get 3 sets of 20lbs three times. I FINALLY went up in my shoulder raises, so I did 3 supersets of 6 each for front, side, and rear lat raises, with 15lbs. I followed this with tricep pressdowns and kickbacks (pressdowns: 3 sets, 25 / 30 / 35 at 10 / 10 / 6 reps; kickbacks 15lbs at 8 reps 3 sets [gotta love those supersets]), then did decline crunches using a 6lb medicine ball. I can feel it in my shoulders and chest this morning, not so much on triceps or abs. Scale holding at about 173; like Chris said, we fell to the lure of Mexican food on Saturday night. Then again, it's difficult when you are hanging with about 13 people to convince them you need to go eat seafood, since it's fish night! So I'm drinking tons of water (as usual) to flush all that out of my system so I can get under 170 by picture day. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | Tuesday 4/24 update: I, like Chris, have pretty bad sleeping problems. But whereas he can generally get a good night's sleep every so often, I don't. Not even on the weekends. So I skipped my workout and went home after class, thinking I could get to bed early and get some decent sleep. Did that happen? NOPE. So I've made a decision to myself: Since it doesn't matter if I workout or not, I'll still get crappy sleep, so no matter how tired I am, I'm going to the gym. Even if I just do cardio instead of lifting, I'll at least be doing something. Wednesday 4/25: Back, biceps, abs. Pulldown and reverse pulldown [superset]: I still feel like I'm losing a lot of form going up in weight, so I'm maxing out at 32.5lbs, 6-8 times. I decided to try something different with my cable rows, and instead of going up in weight, down in reps, I tried doing a dropset starting at 60lbs for 12 reps, then halfing it and doing 12 more, etc. Yeah, though I felt a bit of a burn at the end, I felt really uncool doing 10lbs. So, no dropsets on cable rows for me. Just straight up lifting. BB curls and DB preacher curls [superset]: Since the grand day a week or so ago when I managed to curl 50 lbs, I've made sure I try to keep that up. I don't think I could do 50 again without a spotter (but next time I plan on trying), so I did two sets of 30lbs, 8 reps each, and then two sets of 40lbs, 6 reps each. I did 15lbs on DB preacher curls, 8 reps each set. I could see a hint of a bicep poking out! ![]() Then it was hanging leg raises. I have a hard time doing these on the pullup bars around the gym, so I do them on the weird Roman chair-esque thing in the ab room. I got 3 sets in, 12 reps on each set. I may try to find a different way to do them, as I feel really awkward and don't think I get a decent ab workout. Scale still hanging out around 173; I'm glad it's not going up, but it's not going down, either. Goal for this evening's workout: It's Cardio Thursday, so I'm shooting for 22-25 minutes at 15% incline, 2.8mph. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | Short workout on Thursday. Chris and I were supposed to meet at the gym, but I got out of class an hour early, and knew that Chris wouldn't hear the phone when I called him, so I went home first. We dawdled around for awhile and finally went to the gym. Being as it was very late and I still had to get up and go to work today, I only did 30 minutes on the treadmill, but still managed to get 5 minutes of warm up at 8% incline, 15 minutes at 12% incline, and then 10 minutes at 15%, all at 2.8mph. 282 calories burned according to the machine, 1.26 miles. Scale still holding at 173; it's leg night, and this weekend we're going to be helping some friends move, so I should see some movement by the end of the weekend. Perhaps the allusive 169???? |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | Well, not quite to 169 by the end of the weekend. We are low on protein powder, so we didn't take any with us when we helped friends move. Friends are enablers. Plus by the time we got home, the gym was closed and we were beat anyways. Tuesday I have a prior commitment, so no gym on that day, but I'm adding 15 minutes of cardio to my workouts today, Wednesday, and Friday to make up for it. Thursday nights starts bellydancing class, so I get to, as Chris puts it, "shake my moneymaker." Tonight: chest / shoulders / tri's / abs |
