Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | i don't want to. But i just can't seem to make any changes. All these other guys and gals are making real good noticeable changes, and my hat goes off to you guys, keep it up. But i just can't seem to make a change. I find it difficult to eat alot because alot of our food in our is utter crap. And i am on a sprinting program, so i am not doing any fancy 6 day split or whatever. I will try and get in 3 days weights, but its useless if i can't get my diet in check. For the record, i have thought about quitting but i never give up that easy. so i'm still in it. if anyone has any advice, tomorrow i will prob post what foods we have and you can say 'good, bad, rubbish' I know i should bulk, but i can't gain too much fat as it will be unfavourable for a sprinter-wannabe. Any idea on a good clean diet plan. I really want to make some improvements on my physique over the coming months so i have something to look back on and say it wasn't a complete waste of time. Sorry about the rant but if anyone can help me get really motivated, that would be great cos i need it

| IMPC Contestant | This isn't about some competition guys, this is about a journey of improving ourselves. If this was just 'for the trophy' then you've already lost, but if this was to improve yourself and to become better... then don't quit. Because if you quit now, you quit everyday for the rest of your life.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 10 | Well said AYung! I am going in for major surgery tomorrow morning, and I am not able to train for at least 6 weeks, but I am not giving in or up in this Competition. I am in Novice and MIP. Every one has their ups and downs, but even with a 6 week break, I can still be up in the running. I just have to try and eat cleaner in these 6 weeks to stay on track. It is not impossible.

| Soldier In Progress | Definately, if you're like me ... my whole family eats dirty and unhealthy, noone is concerned with their lifestyle but me. With that said I buy 10 pounds of chicken, few good steaks, rice, canned yams and all the supplements I want for the week. Cook and eat them all, noone but yourself is stopping you from success!

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 45 | World class sprinters aren't made from starving on Mac and Cheese. They probably eat better than most world class athletes! Buy those 12lb boxes of oats, buy chicken breast in large quantities and make your own lunches. If you lift before supper and then eat whatever your family eats you can go high GI or whatever. And yeah, it's not about winning or losing. The only difference the IMPC is making with my life I'll probably bulk only for 4 weeks in August instead of 8 weeks so I can peak better in November. And, the #1 thing you can do for will power/motivation/improve your life: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...ght=goal+sheet NLP. You don't need to know the science, just read through the thread and do it! Make your goals for lean weight gain and read them every day and you it won't even be like you have to exercise will power, you'll just be like "I could have Cinnamon Toast Crunch for breakfast, but I rather not, it's not worth it, I could care less, I'll have oats and egg whites!"

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | I just came up with some goals, with help from DJohnson (thanks man, this could be the life changer i needed) by providing the link. basically its a goal sheet, but i do not have speific goals like bench 50kg in two months, rather they are goals on the way i live and such, which in the end, will help improve everything. tell me what you think, add any, subtract any... Fitness Goals Sprint Harder than I did yesterday. Lift more intense than I did last session. Gain more knowledge than I had yesterday. Eat at least 5-6 big meals a day. Prepare meals for the day the night before. Take photos and measurements every couple weeks, or monthly. Lift, lift, lift, and do it intense. Each session I am going to be focused, determined and like an animal, so do not disturb. Sprint so anyone wanting to join in can not keep up with my speed. Be explosive each start, maintain proper form, and visualize myself being the best. Increase my size so by the end of the year, I won’t be remembered as the skinny short kid, I want to be known as the bigger, faster, more confident guy. Lifestyle Goals Increase my study time. Make sure to get in at least 2-3hrs of study a night, even more over the weekend. Live each day to the fullest, doing everything I ever wanted, regretting nothing. Waste no time, such as browsing over the forums for hours, just sitting in front of the TV or computer. Go out and play with my dogs, have some shoots of hoops, clean the house or yard, so some work around the house, clean my ute, anything other than wasting my life. Live confident. Everyday Goals I only have one everyday goal… Be a better man than I was yesterday.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 8 | "Everyday Goals I only have one everyday goal… Be a better man than I was yesterday." I think that sums it up right there. If this contest provides you the motivation to work at that noble goal then it is a worthwhile endeavor. This contest is something I am enjoying, but I primarily see it as motivation to get me where I want to be. One of the cool things about bodybuilding is that you can compete against yourself. Can you lift more this week than last week? Can you resist the temptation to eat as much of that great tasting, but unhealthy food as you did last week? If you can improve in those two areas you will get better. I think there may be two reasons you might feel a little distressed by the progress others are making. First, you are very lean, so the changes you make aren't going to be as noticeable as somebody who cuts eight pounds of fat in a month. Secondly, you are still relatively young and bodybuilding seems to be something that tends to be dominated by individuals who have been training for a very long time. I guess my point is to keep working because even though your progress may come slower it is certainly worth the battle and you can build your best body. Don't get me wrong, I would really like to win, but whether the body each of us builds by November is better or worse than anybody else in the competition really isn't the most important thing if we are all improving ourselves.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 45 | Rewrite all those goals to a present tense and strictly positive you'll get a lot more benefit. Stuff like: It's the end of the year now, and I've increased size so much noone can even remember that I used to be skinny. Everyone looks at me as a big, shredded, confident guy. I make such good use of my time, none of it is wasted! I'm spending my time constructively. I've been walking my dog, shooting hoops and improving my living space. Read it at least once each day and read it with emotion. I guarantee it'll work wonders. Achieving your goals will just seem to come naturally!
