| IMPC Contestant | I'm resigning from the IMPC as I've missed the picture update. With contestest like Crobar in it, I just don't see the need to try and get a camera every month to snap some pics (while working 49 hours a week, weedays only). It's been fun and it's an AWESOME idea. I also don't feel like cutting, because when the deadline comes around I'll be full swing in swimming, and the only thing I want to do there is get bigger and stronger (I'm a sprinter)..... So I'm resigning! Best of luck to all you competitors, you can really see the changes you guys are making! Good stuff!

1. 3 kids 2. 45hr+ job 3. Go to school at night Hang in there, this competition is more mental imo than physical.

Thanks SC, I knew you would clear things up. To clarify for you towards your excuses: 1. I have 3 kids also - they are grown 2. I don't have to work even 40 hours, benifits of being a Director level 3. I did my time in school, hence #2 So you see there are advantages of being older, now kiss my ass and get back to work, do your homework, and change those diapers ![]() | |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | Hell i even got excuses to quit like... 1/ Last year of high school, should focus more on this than training. 2/ Sports to train and compete in. But them two excuses are not enough to overpower the benefits of IMPC... 1/ Through the roof confidence by training hard to keep up with others. 2/ Increased energy levels through correct diet and training. 3/ Improved self-esteem and image. 4/ Friends starts to notice differences (not me personally, but i am sure many of other constensts has felt this) 5/ Lower bodyfat 6/ Increase muscular size 7/ confidence 8/ Goal setting which is important in life 9/ Sheer fun of training and dieting for a competition, especially against other IM memebers 10/ Just sheer fun. 11/ Confidence (have i already said this before?) The list can go on and on and on, but i thought i would stop. But you see, a excuse like 'can't take photos every month' or 'i missed a workout so i better quit' can no way on earth out-weigh, over-power the above 11 benefits from doing the IMPC. Anyone agree with what i just said?

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | I like that the contest requires monthly pics. I've never been one to take regular progress photos, but now I can really see how much motivation they can provide. Even when the numbers on the scale are headed in the right direction and the clothes are fitting better, I have a hard time actually seeing or feeling the changes. On previous cuts, after I dropped ten pounds, I'd be thinking "where did it all go, I look the same... oh god, I must be losing muscle!!!". The pics let you do side-by-sides that provide proof positive that all your hard work is paying off. It is fantastic motivation and I plan to keep doing it and probably keep posting the pics, even when the IMPC is not on. Seeing pics of your competition is also a motivating factor; when I see how hard everyone else is working, it makes me step it up a notch.

Exactally, people don't notice a change but when they look back month-to-month they can definiate see it. That's the whole point of the IMPC, making yourself better.

| IMPC Contestant | Every few months I try to take a few photos, but taking a few photos each month seems a bit much. I might switch over to the MIP, but since I missed a month I have zero chance of winning. I just don't want to cut at all, so Novice isn't for me! EDIT: Thanks for all the words, and I understand that my excuses are just mere excuses. I just don't want to be bothered with it, I know that many have it much much worse than I do!

Novice - you get a feel for competition. you learn how to prepare, diet, train and such leading up to competition. that contest is more about winning (IMO, but certainly has alot to do about self-improvement...) IMP - this is the contest where you should not worry about that trophy at the end. even if you miss 3-4 monthly submissions, doesn't matter (well technical on the scorecard it does) but if you keep on training, its all about the end product and the new you. not the trophy man what i am trying to get at is don't worry about winning, just enjoy yourself, make some improvements and you are good to go....
