Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 41 | It seems like this section has been very inactive. So i'll start a thread since I am wondering. So are there 2 contests? One for overall improvement and one like a real bodybuilding contest? Also, how does the scoring system work? I talked to Sholiz a couple weeks back and he said they would drop like 5pts for each missed month of updated pics. Does this apply to the "Bodybuilding style" contest? Also, can we get a sneak peak at who you think is winning so far? :bb:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | You are correct, there are two contests, one a competition for the most overall improved physique from the start date to the finish, and one a true bodybuilding style competition based solely on the physique as presented at the end of the competition. The bodybuilding compeition will be scored exactly like a true bodybuilding competition, with a symmetry round, and a muscularity round, and scored exactly the way an actual show is judged. 1 point will be awarded to the best competitor in each round, 2 points to the second best.. etc.etc... the lowest overall score wins. The scoring system for the improvement competition will be similar, but we will be judging on the degree of improvement in several areas.. i.e muscularity, definition, symmetry. Each physique will be ranked according to IMPROVEMENT in each of these areas with 1 point going to the most improved physique in each catagory, 2 going to the second best, etc... The competitor with the lowest overall total will win this competition. One thing to remember... The most improved physique will win this competition, NOT, necessarily the person with the best physique at the end. Because posting your updates each month is a requirement, the judges will determine a suitable penalty for not posting updates as required. Because the lowest total score wins this competition, we will most likely ADD an appropriate number of points ( exact amount to be determined ) to the total composite score of each competitor at the end for each update they have missed. There is no competitor currently in the lead. The improvement competiton is based on improvement from the start date, to the finish date. However you choose to do your training between now and then is up to you... Some competitors may choose to bulk and then cut toward the end, others may just be cutting. There is no real way to judge progress at this point as different competitors may be in different phases of their training plan. Each competitors condition at the end will determine the placing. What training method you use to get there is up to you! - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 41 | Thanks for clearing most of my questions up EME! Just a couple more: 1. So does the contest still end at the end of the year, or is it going to be extended? 2. If it is the end of the year, is it December 31, 2005 or January 1, 2006. Hey, one day could make a difference. 3. Also, though not as important, it's always good to know for more motivation. Are there going to be prizes for both contests? And if so, are they the exact same? Since legalgear is giving away theat package, it's hard to believe they are giving the package for both contests.

2: December's pictures will be due the 24th-31st. (I think?) The last week at least, then January 1st (throughout the first week of January) we'll try to narrow down contestants and get all the scoring done. 3: Yes, prizes for both.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 41 | Cool, thanks for replying. If a competitor does not post the final set of pics, would you just judge the previous months pictures? Or disqualify?

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | The final month pictures are required. Failure to post the final month's pictures will be equivalent to dropping out of the competition, or not showing up for the show. If you have a particular situation that would prevent you from posting your pics during the last week of December, we may consider your request to post Earlier ( not later ) ... PROVIDED.. you clear it with the judges ahead of time. Any allowance will be up to the judges discretion and will be decided on a case by case basis. My advice is to make arrangements to be able to post your pics during the last week. - EME Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | It would be interesting for sure, but not necessary. When you hit the poses that are judged, you are supposed to be standing still. What WILL make a difference are things like tan, lighting, etc. If you submit your pics and you're pasty white in a room with bad lighting.... it probably won't turn out well for you! Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | It's not bad. It's clear and bright enough to see you, so that's good. However, you would look a lot better with a dark backdrop, and overhead lighting that is slightly to one side. Do the best you can. Hang up a Dark sheet on the wall, set up a lamp at about head height, or even slightly higher between you and where the camera is. Put it just off center from where you are taking the pics and make sure it isn't in the picture. The MOST important thing of course is that your pics are bright, and in focus, and that they show your entire body in every pose. This is an old pic.. but it's an example of good lighting: ![]() - EME Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 41 | I don't think I have any dark sheets. If I can't get the dark sheets i'l just try to get a lamp, if not, i'll just keep it as it is. Except I need to include the entire body next time. Nice lighting!

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | Absolutely! My recommendations were meant for everyone competing! Remember, there is always Dream Tan! It's not my favorite for competitions, because it rubs off easily, but you can wash it off completely as soon as your done taking your pics! - EME Quote:
