Michael wrote a post today regarding the 2007 trophies and in that post he also said there will be a 2008 IMPC.

I probably (99.9% certainty) will not do the IMPC this year. I need a good long break from contest prep - it's just too stressful to go through it every single year. I'll be bulking straight through 2008 in order to pack on the mass I need to really become a serious competitor. My plan is to do some shows in 2009, and possibly the 2009 IMPC if it jives with those plans.

Someone else will take the throne in 2008, but I will reclaim it again at a time of my choosing...

The 2007 IMPC was a ton of fun, contest prep isnt that hard for me. I love the cut diet and seeing the transformation. Count me in for 2008. With my new job it will be easier to do the IMPC this year. I still plan to do a show on stage as well, so lets get started!

Was there an offical announcement on this? I never heard if there was going to be a contest this year.

If EME doesn't come forward soon, I am willing to take up the reigns and officiate the contest/put together prize packages. I'm not going to let the IMPC die.

it shouldnt die. its a ton of fun, challenging and competitive. doing this every year would be awesome.

That is really cool that u are willing to do that! Count me in! I didnt meet my goals last year so I want another shot at them.
