Hello all, I guess its finally time for me to post my journal in public! I am 35 years old my name is Yvette but friends call me Tea .I started this weight loss journey at 263lbs and something like 48% bf :'( a year and a half later I am 189lbs 30% bf My goal is to get down eventually to 12% bf, this is a guesstimation ( is that a word?) for where I think I would need to be to see how much loose skin I will have. I also want to do a figure competition, there is one in October here in Australia but we will see how things look when I get the last 35-45lbs of this off!

I will post pics later, I wish I had some from when I began, but I moved to another country ( form the usa to australia) so I don't have any and they were really ugly anyway :P

Today is upper body, I am working with a trainer once a week heres what today looks like:

7 min on the crosstrainer

seated chest press machine 12 reps at 30 kilos
12 reps at 35k
dumbbell chest press 15 reps at 10k
shoulder press machine 12 reps at 20k
seated rowing machine 12 reps at 22.5k
narrow grip lat pulldown 12 reps at 37.5k

7 more min on the crosstrainer

rope pull down thingy for triceps ( whats that called?) 12 reps at 25k
standing dumbbell curls for biceps 12 reps at 6k each arm

hovers for abs hold for 30 sec x2

16 more min on the crosstrainer

This is quite a bit different from what I used to do, but this is what my trainer has me doing.


My diet at the moment:
Here is how I am curently eating:

Meal 1: 4 egg whites 1 yolk with mushrooms and green onions, 1/2 c. oatmeal with a bit of splenda and skim milk ( this is pre-workout)

Meal 2: protein shake mixed with water and green apple ( this is post workout)

Meal 3: chicken breast or tuna and steamed broccoli

Meal 4: protein shake mixed with water and 1/2 ruby red grapefruit with a bit of splenda

Meal 5: chicken breast and salad

Meal 6: protein shake mixed with water

This is pretty much the same everyday I amy have tuna instead of chicken and almonds instead of the grapefruit, or a yam instead of oatmeal, but thats pretty much it.

My last low on 8/08/2006 was 167.5 lbs.

Cutting until I am lean
Starting weight: 190 lbs. bodyfat: 19.7%
November 27th: 183 lbs. bodyfat: 18.3% bodyfat
Goal Weight: 176 lbs with no more than 10% bodyfat

Hiya Tea..

Congrats on your weight loss so far... your trainer sounds lyke he knows what he's doing.. in fact, I thynk that by keeping my rest periods to a minimum during my weight lifting session helps give me an aerobic benefit, but I'm sure that hitting the crosstrainer during your session as well as afterwards is an excellent way of burning those excess carbs & fat cells...

Can't wait for the pics.. it's excyting to see the changes one's body makes..

really?? I am feeling like I am not really getting anywhere. I want to do HIIT cardio rather then ss cardio here and there. I kind of feel like the cardio is wearing me and making it so I can't lift as heavy.

hi there! I hear ya there, the crosstrainer kills me but I did HIIT on it and it went by sooo much faster then ss, even the it nearly killed me!

Yup HIT is 10x better, it's over quick and the if you do it with the right intensity you'll burn way more fat and spare muscle.
