Cool September's Hot Topic - Motivation

Geez.. it's September already..??? - Tyme for another Hot Topic I guess...

Thys tyme, it's Motivation... Share everythyng about motivation...

- Have you ever lost it??
- What's motivating you now??
- What do you say or thynk about in the gym that helps you get that last rep??
- How do you deal with negativity??

... ... Thys month, it's all about motivation baby!!

**********

I guess I'll post fyrst since I'm the one asking...

I'm just a regular guy that enjoys lyfting weights... One day, I saw a picture of Ronnie Coleman on the Jay Leno show.. and someone said.. "Geez, Ronnie sure looked huge, compared to the humans." ... I thought it was hilarious... but when I gave it some thought... that became my motivation... I want to be bigger than all the humans... That's my training mantra... Is it a pipe dream?? Somethyng that could never ever happen.. Possibly... But if it is.. then I'm just determined to prove myself wrong... nor do I allow myself to thynk it's impossible...

When I'm fighting for one more rep... I thynk.. "I gotta be bigger than all the humans.." ... as I push the weight up... Every now & then, I may scream - "Yeah, Budday!!! Lightweight!!!" ... Hell, my gyrlfriend screams it when she's lyfting groceries... It's our lil insyde joke... & it's hilarious to me when she says it... But the other day, I was in the locker room discussing my diet with Roy, a competitive BB'er in my gym... when Mel, comes over to be a comedian...

"Have you heard thys guy whyle he's working out... He screams - Lyghtweight!!! .. Whyle he's doing his exercyses." ... and Roy says - "Yeah, lyke Ronnie Coleman?" ... I replied, "Yep, exactly... But Mel wouldn't know Ronnie Coleman from Gary Coleman." ... and everyone laughed, but thys tyme at Mel...

Do I really care what people thynk whyle I'm working out... If I scream Lyghtweight or growl lyke a blood thyrsty werewolf whyle fyghting for that last rep?? .. Nope, not one bit... I'm following a proper BB bulking diet... I'm lyfting heavy weights... and I'll do whatever it takes to keep me motivated... Because one day... I'm going... To Be... Bigger... Than... All The Humans....

Now, what motivates you???

Peace..~G

I just love to lift! I love being strong. It makes me feel empowered. I have people say to me all the time, "You don't look like you can lift that much weight!" I suppose that could be considered an insult, but I find it kind of cool to wear a size zero petite or a 2 and be able to outlift half the men at my gym --it kind of catches them offguard.

Seriously -- mainly for me, it's just me and the weights. I kind of go into my own little place and wage warfare and I'm planning on winning. I don't worry about what others can do or how I stack up to them. I just love making improvements and seeing the changes in my body.

i am motivated when i see or hear about people doing things that no one ever thought they could do!!

in my own personal life, i get motivated when i look at pictures of how fat i was only a few years ago...it makes me feel empowered and like i am in control of my own life!! for so long i was just drifting...eating like crap and not caring what i looked like...but NOW....now i care a LOT!! i feel like one of these days i will actually look as great as i feel inside!

i have always been an extremely positive and upbeat person....i always have a smile on my face, and people are always asking me WHY...hahahaaa....in my opinion, laughter and a positive attitude will get you EVERYWHERE!!

once i started lifting weights i knew i had found something that i would NEVER give up! i love the feeling i get when i lift something HAYOGE and people go WOW...heheheee....this motivates me to no end...but its the personal joy i get from lifting that keeps me coming back...i look forward to EVERY lifting session....i LOVE IT!

i would like to add....

when i am working out and i come to a point when i dont think i can kick out that last rep i think of IRONMASS....i remember i am gonna come in and post my workout and i dont want anyone to see that ive woosed out! IRONMASS KICKS ASS!
i deal with negativity with humor usually....if i am faced with negativity, i SMOTHER IT with friendliness...hahaaaa.....seriously, if someone treats me negatively i always smile and try to put myself in their shoes before i respond as openmindedly as possible! reminds me of my igmo neighbors...they are so rude and ugly...always giving us mean go to hell looks...when they do this i SMILE and WAVE...heheheheee...gawd they really hate that! LMAO

IMHO everyone caves after enough positive energy is thrown at them...i havent met a person yet that i havent been able to give a smile to and get one in return eventually.

I pretty motivated in general. I don't know if it's really motivation though or just a combination of enjoying consistency in my life (I like my rut dammit) and being logical. Since I like my rut, I have no problem getting myself to the gym every time. I only miss when I'm sick. Since I'm logical it seems really stupid to me to do anything but my best since I'm there already. Works for me.

Of course there's always the issue of having to come on here and admit that I was a PUSSY. LOL.

Until I began working out at home I didn't fully appreciate the freedom to workout without a shirt and scream, "Pussy" on those last reps. LOL.
