Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 58 | Here is a website that describes the condition: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...magesr&start=1 Here is a page that shows the exercises to help prevent the condition: http://familydoctor.org/265.xml I have been wondering about how to prevent getting a rotator cuff injury. Lately my weights are increasing on my shoulder exercises and I don't want to tear anything. So I decided to research this. This is what I found. I will be incorporating the 4 exercises into my weekly routine immediately. *

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 10 | Great info Rad. I was just looking at the diagrams at the doctors office I go to about the rotator cuff and the different injuries. That and I have read where so many people get injuries there from lifting. Thanks this info is important for all to have. ![]() Brenda

| IronMass Donator | Excellent info! Just what I needed. I'm trying my best to avoid the orthopedist. I don't like him.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | I had my surgery March 2005 and was medically cleared last week. It is a major surgery that should not be taken lightly. While I'm back to lifting again, the heavey days are over and I'm MUCH more careful in the gym and warm the shoulders up before doing ANY type of exercise.

| Silver Member | great post rad, both my shoulders are shot and yes it hinders my lifting on overhead and flat pressing exercises. i work through it and some days are worse than others. it definitely keeps me from lifting as heavy as i probably should be able to. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | I found that same web page also. I too have bad shoulders. I had a small tear in my right which cleared up and now my left is acting up. I am following a program from a book called "Core Performance" which I think is the best one I have found. Look in your local library as that is where I found it first. I just recently bought the book off of eBay...cheap.

you should see what happens on xrays when you take one normal and then one holding just a 5 pound weight at your side, then you would understand why this is a high area of injury, things start touching each other and irritating other areas. I have been working on strengthening my RC for 9 months now, I see a big diff but always now when ive went a bit too far and listen to my body. | |
