Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | Thank you, dbflgirl, for that rousing introduction. I've been called many things, but "gentleman" and "scholar" aren't in the top 50. And thank you, RealFantasy, for the warm welcome. Yes, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it here. This journal wasn't my idea (don't you just love it when a woman takes charge?), but since I've been thrown into the pool, I might as well start swimming. I'm not sure which direction this journal will take us. I'm sure we'll mention weight-training from time to time, but I feel inadequate discussing this considering the wealth of expertise on this site. I'm sure you'll hear my thoughts on the Oakland Raiders and the rest of the NFL season as I live for football! Family, job, dreams, successes and setbacks are also open for discussion. Stay tuned . . . |

Cement shoes... you know.. as a woman, she retains that option in the future... ![]() Did you say football... I know you're excyted about the Raiders... Yeah, Gannon retyred, but now they have Moss in addition to a talented receiving corp... I've heard people are betting the offense to put up Indianapolis type numbers... Of course, I'm a Cowboys fan... but I wysh the Raiders success because of Norv... Congratz on the 225... and I believe we styll have some spaces available in our fantasy football league... it's a lotta fun, even for fyrst tymers... http://ironmass.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1955 Aiight.. we don't know where thys thread is headed... but you're driving & I'm going along for the ryde... Peace..~G

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | Hey Game! Good to see ya, brother! I like your place. Yeah, the Raiders added Moss this year and LaMont Jordan, too. They should score about 60 points a game. Unfortunately, the defense could be giving up 65 points a game! Your 'Boys should be fun to watch. I like Bledsoe and think he's got a lot of football left. Are you ready for some FOOOOOTBAAAAAAALLL!!! |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | Good morning! I got to the gym this morning and found that . . . SOMEONE HAD TAKEN MY LOCKER!!!! What an outrage! I thought that everyone knows that locker #86 belongs to me! That was my jersey number when I played high school football, and it's the locker I use every day. So now my whole morning is thrown off! I have 2 workout partners and we take turns being the workout leader. That way we don't stand around and say "What do you want to do?" "I don't know, what do you want to do?" "Let's do shrugs." "No, let's do..." So we each take a week and it gives us some variety. So this week is Jeff's week. By the way, my workout partners are 18 and 20 years my junior, yet they push this old man to keep up with them. It ain't fair, I tell ya. We did shoulders and a little abs (we were running out of time). Here's what I did: Seated Shoulder Press/DB 40 x 10 45 x 10 50 x 10 55 x 8 Front Lateral Raises 20 x 12 25 x 10 25 x 10 Seated Press (Behind head) - Smith machine 50* x 12 70 x 10 90 x 10 100 x 7 * Two 25 lb. plates plus bar Leg Raises 20 20 13 Crunch (machine/weighted) 40# x 15 50# x 15 60# x 10 Thanks to everyone who has welcomed me so warmly. You're the greatest! |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | I'm glad I'm not the only one that does superstitions thyngs in the gym... On my way up the steps.. I touch locker 333.... my high school's lucky number... Then I have locker #591... I thynk the folks at my gym dare each other to use it... ... Then on the way out.. I touch locker 333 again... If I realize I forget to do it.. I'll turn around and go touch it... So far, I'm making gains and haven't been injured.. so it must be working.. and on leg day.. I also put on my ryght knee warmer fyrst... ![]() Peace..~G

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | Yeah.. thys is the same Game.. don't thynk I said LEG WARMERS... You got me confused with Jennifer Beal in Flashdance... ![]() I use Tommy Kono Knee Bands... They're produced & endorsed by a world champion powerlifter... plus they have Clarence Bass' stamp of approval ... So I decyded they were good enough for me... .. They also make me look BAD-ASS, when I enter the gym on leg day.. http://www.cbass.com/KonoKneeBands.htm See.. nothyng pussy about 'em... I'll even add that I wear them under my jeans sometymes when I'm dancing around on stage... It's a big difference... Now.. using the pu$$y pad whyle u're squatting on the smith machine should surely be a reason to lose your gym membershyp.. ![]() Hey Rob.. I don't have that problem.. the plates at my gym are the same from both sydes... ... One less thyng to worry about... Peace..~G

Also the plates of each weight have to match exactly the same type since they have a variety at my gym. | |
