Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Thanks D; hmmm...extras?...I don't have much 'fluff in the back', but in the front...hehe...wouldn't call it fluff, more like stuff! Walked 3 miles today but didn't lift except for shoulder rehab exercises. I've reached my target reps/sets for the last 2 sessions, & even tho my L cuff is bothering me a little (kinda tight & a few degrees less than my normal ROM) decided to raise the weights a bit & drop the reps back to 8/3 sets & start another round. I think I may not be stretching them enough on my off days; sometimes I don't at all, & that may be the source of the prob. I'll stretch both shoulders everyday for the next wk & see if that helps. edit on: (I'm talking as if this is a fresh injury. In fact, I KNOW I have to stretch everyday & also what happens if I don't). What do you call someone who's lazy? Lazy. edit off. Had to run the grandkids around after school & that consumed some time. While I was out, picked up some fresh halibut steaks that just came in today & veggies for dinner. Here's what I made: I poached the fish in white wine with a few green peppercorns, shallots, fresh parsley sprigs, lemon slices, & a bay leaf. Steamed about 2 lbs of asparagus spears then cut the stalks on the diagonal into 1" pieces, & drizzled some sesame oil on them with black sesame seeds. Broiled a dozen zucchini & yellow crookneck squash after cutting them in half lengthwise & brushing each side with a little melted butter. Started the meal with a romaine lettuce/cherry tomato salad with fig balsamic vinegar & a touch of olive oil, & a thick slice of russian rye bread. Drank the rest of the chardonnay with the meal. It was worth waiting for, & it took only about 45 mins to prepare. As hibby would say, that's that. Have a happy friday. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Nah. Going to a custom car show with the teenage grandson & probably some of his friends, & his dad. Should be lots of rods there from the 50's - 70's with gorgeous paint jobs. It takes so little to make me happy. The kid's been into transportation since he was about 3 yrs old, playing cars with me on the floor. Aside from that, there's a pic coming soon. Really. No, I know you've heard that before, but it's close now. In the meantime...you haven't shown any skin for awhile & since you're lifting so hard, it may be time for an update. hehe. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Yesterday I worked the shoulders & today finished with the other parts that should've been done then: Bench press: 10-10-10 finally, 2 sessions in a row & this felt good so I'll raise weight a bit & lower the reps to 6. DB pullover: 9-8-8; raised weight/ lowered reps 2 WOs ago. Chest dips: 10-10-9, ugh, ugher, ughest. DB lying tricep extensions: 11-11-10. Kickbacks: 12-12-11, oh man! 19 mins on stairstepper, & some slow, rather painful stretching finished me off, so to speak. Also walked 3 miles earlier in the day. Think I've still got part of the bug that's floating around here because my calves are stiff & sore; it was a gingerly walk when going downhill. Last night sitting with my feet up I had a cramp in my L calf that was so bad I couldn't move my feet to the floor to rub it away. I thought "Please somebody make it stop; I'll tell you where the gold is hidden." Used the electric massager tonight & IT HURT. Downed an ibuprofen before logging on here, hopefully that'll help. Probably also rub on the tiger balm. See, I EXERCISE TOO! So there. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Went to a custom car show today with the teenage grandson. About 150 hot rods there from the '20's thru the 70's. Brought back good memories of when I was a kid & in love with cars. I didn't eat there but fed him well; he's growing like a weed & is into burrito supremes, so he downed 1 of them that covered the whole paper plate & washed it down with a lemonade. I made a feeble excuse about why I didn't want one of those 1 lb barbecued turkey legs, & by the time i dropped him off at home was famished. Nibbled on some things then went out for my usual 45 min walk; took it easy today because my legs are still kind of tender, from the virus that's going around I think. Didn't lift, but probably will tomorrow. Have a terrific sunday everyone. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Walked for 45 mins today & then stretched the shoulders because they were starting to feel tight/aching. Did the stairstepper too but then was called away so that was it for the day. Diet isn't doing well; weigh in was yesterday & back up to 200 lbs, was 196 2 wks ago. Holding a lot of it in my stomach. It's so easy to pick something up & eat it instead of doing it right & not getting hungry. Beating myself up is a dead end; tomorrow morning starts another day. Night all. |

You are going to have good days and bad days. You will be fine, I am sure. Besides, like you said, tommorrow is another day. And, I know how frustrating it gets when you can't get that stomach to show the improvement that you want it too. So, I guess we are both just going to have to eat better so we can see them abs.![]() HAVE A GOOD NIGHT JOED, and I hope that tommorrow is better for you. ![]() Brenda

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | My 10 yr old grandson is going to start getting a series of allergy shots & the doc suggested getting an air filter/cleaner machine for his bedroom. Anyone have any experience with these; do they all work pretty much the same or is one better than another? Thanks. Been busy & not posting for a couple of days. Daily walking continues & diet is going OK but no pounds lost this week. My body seems to have a mind of its own. Happy sunday everyone. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | My mom kept my dogs once... just once... ... & she rushed out to buy an air filter from Home Depot... It was huge and loud... so loud in fact, that she decyded not to use it, even tho it was supposed to suck up all the "pet" odors she was smelling... I don't know about your budget... but I stayed awake many nights watching those Sharper Image Ionic Breeze commercials... and if I felt the need to purchase an air cleaner... that would be my choice. Just $.02.. Peace..~G

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Thanks dog. I'll research it more, but I think the allergy shots may be most of the solution. Walked the usual 3 miles today in beautiful autumn weather that looks like it's taking over most of the country. If I recall correctly, the Philippines & western Pacific are beginning the rainy season, with monsoons in some far east countries threatening until May. I ought to know, having spent over 2 yrs in that part of the world with the rain, and other things, pelting me this time of the year. A few of the ash trees are beginning to change color here but we have about 2-3 more wks before the gold, orange, and red leaves show their faces. And then for them...a fate which awaits us all...returning to mother earth. |
