Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Hiya dnyc, Pam, 1stin, & bren. I feel like I'm cheating because I copied/pasted the above post from 'another' board I go to, & didn't know what else to say today. Walked for my usual 45 mins. & was gonna do some shoulder rehab exercises, but it was hot & humid and when I came back from the walk I sat down for too long & couldn't get started again with lifting. Instead I rested for awhile then cooked dinner. The clouds rolled in with thunder then a steady rain fell for about 2 hrs. Temp dropped about 20 degrees so it will be a good night for zzzzzzzzz's. Hope all of you who are reading this have some good ones too. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Weighed myself this AM, lost 2 lbs, down to a svelt (in my dreams) 198. Here's the wk average from fitday: Source Grams Calories % Total Total / 2532 fat 45 406 18% sat 10 91 4 poly 16 144 6 mono 11 98 4 carbs 339 1032 45 fiber 81 0 0 protein 211 843 37 So it was a fairly decent week. I'll keep the total cals around 2500 - 2600, macros about the same too. Wish fitday would calc the cholesterol, but I can do that manually. Blood pressure this AM was 135/86, pulse 78; wanting to get it down into the 120s/70s range, pulse 60s. Have a terrific sunday everyone, unless you've got other plans. |

This is controversial, but I have not found much evidence that there is a correlation between dietary cholesterol and serum cholesterol. I have given up on watching cholesterol in foods. I do watch saturated fat though. There is a very high correlation between saturated fat and heart disease, particularly in sedentary individuals. Some saturated fats are needed though. I try to keep saturated fats below 10% of total calories and unsaturated fats at least 2 times that number. Over the last two years I have reduced my cholesterol risk factor from 1 to .7 (My good cholesterol went up.) I have also reduce my BP from 140/85 to below 120/60. I am still working on my heart rate. That is still too high. Good luck and good health. Congrats on the 2 lbs. That is much better than I did this past week. ![]() *

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Thanks dbfl I'll do that; you saved me time once again. Dog, Bren gives me lots of visuals that are hard to get my mind away from; the pulse & bp always come down when I'm lighter so I know that'll happen. Yeah rad, I watch the sat fats too. A typical day's food, not in sequence: oatmeal, brown rice, beans, egg whites (yolk once in awhile), broccoli, potato, green salad with vegs & rice wine vinegar, fish, whey protein drink, almonds or walnuts, flaxseed, fish oil caps, fruit like strawberries or apples. My CoQ10 comes with 350 mg rice bran oil, but I haven't looked up the fats in that yet, & occasionally I'll take 1 gm of CLA. Last edited by joed : 08-21-2005 at 08:16 PM. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Walked for 45 mins today, more quickly than usual because the black clouds were coming in & winds were blowing. Finished the whole thing but I was a little wet at the end. Didn't have time for the lifting because I was tied up later than expected doing something for/with 2 grandkids. I'll do monday's WO on tues, then use thurs & sat this wk for the others. Guess I'll look at it as being flexible. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 10 | HI Joed! How's it going? I have not talked to you in awhile so I thought I'd see what was happening and say HI! I do that with workout days too. If I can't get one in, I do it the next day. It does not hurt nothing to do them that way.![]() I am going to be good, and not raise your BP today, (that is of course unless you want me to. ).YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY GUY! ![]() Brenda

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | I've been told I look good in leather; you'll have to take my word for it just a tiny bit longer. OK, the WO on Monday was back & biceps: deadlifts 10-9-9, working up to 3/10. DB shrugs 10-10-10, will do these once or twice more before increasing weight & lowering reps. DB row leaning on bench 12-11-11, working up to 3/12. Standing BB curls 10-9-9, working up to 3/10. Regular & reverse DB wrist curls 12-11-11, going to 3/12. 16 minutes on stairstepper. Overall felt good. The tendonitis in the forearms has disappeared or, more accurately, faded away. Breathing like a steam engine on the deads & the stairstepper, but never got out of breath & had some gas left in the tank at the end. |
