Hey Pammie been reading your thread for a little while. Congrats to getting back to training. I too have given up my beer for training. I'm 6 months down the road on that and believe me it does get better. Try my method of when I feel like drinking, do some sort of excersize, anything push-ups sit-ups, go for a walk. Not only does it free you of the urge, it helps in the fitness goal. I also try to remember I'm giving up drinking, not oxygen! Hope to see your improvement continue, and good luck.

well i guess id better start posting my lifting again huh?

horizontal push/pull:

rack pulls: 3x5 @ 165lbs
bent over rows: 3x5 @ 135lbs
cheater pulldowns: 2x8 @ 85lbs
flat bench: 1x5 @ 100lbs, 2x5 @ 105lbs
db flat bench: 1x3 @ 43lbs, 2x5 @ 33lbs

i started out really light today...rack pulls felt sooooo good. i cant believe how much i missed them! these numbers will jump up pretty fast as long as i stay in my routine but im going to try to not go TOO fast. i already know im strong...this is about not getting hurt.
bent over rows were HARD but they felt delicious!im LOVING these today....it was second set about 3rd rep when i got a rush of adrenaline and felt great the rest of the workout!
cheater pulldowns prolly belong on verticle day but i wanted to try them. a friend of mine said they were awesome and i have to agree they really did some great things to my lats...theyre already sore!!!
flat bench press was next. i loaded up 100lbs and it went up super smoothly for the first set of 5 so i put 5 more lbs on it and 105 was much more challenging the last 2 sets! something funny happened while i was laying down on the bench...i looked up and there were 2 birds sitting on a branch in the tree above me right over my face! i SWEAR i thought for sure one of them was gonna drop a load on me! but i didnt miss a rep...hahahaaaaa!! i was determined! and no poop fell so i was lucky!! yay!!
i had planned to do incline db bench press next but the weight bench wouldnt adjust correctly for me. i switched it to regular flat db bench press instead. i loaded the first 2 dumbbells up with too much weight accidentally but was able to pop up 3 reps with 43lbs each dumbbell...i lowered the weight though to 33lbs each and used that for the last 2 sets of 5.
i thought about calf raises at the end of this but i broke my toe a few days ago so it needs to heal before i can do anything leg related that needs toes.

overall i am really proud of myself!

Quad dominant w/ biceps:

ATF squats:
w/u w/ bar only 1x5
1x5 ~ 65 lbs
1x5 ~ 85 lbs
1x5 ~ 100 lbs
1x5 ~ 120 lbs
1x5 ~ 120 lbs

BB Stepups (shin level):
3x5 ~ 120 lbs <-- HARD

BB Good Mornings:
2x10 ~ 120 lbs <-- HARD

BB curls:
w/u 1x10 ~ 40 lbs <--felt SO GOOD
1x5 ~ 45 lbs
1x5 ~ 50 lbs
1x5 ~ 55 lbs <-- PUMPED!!

drag curls:
1x5 ~ 40 lbs
1x5 ~ 45 lbs
1x5 ~ 50 lbs

wow KILLER workout! i feel great!
i started warming up a tad with the bar only for the squats. one set of 5...lol... after that i decided to work my way up in weight each set...right after the set with 100lbs i stubbed my damn "broken but healing toe" on a brick so it took me about 2 minutes before i lifted the next set. DAMN youd think i would do something to stop this toe insanity! but anywayyyy....when i reached 120 i felt i was still able to have good form and got a KILLER burn the last 2 sets of 5. seriously i already have noodle legs! heh!
step ups were next...these were SUPER challenging! i had to literally talk myself through each and every step!
GMs were TOTALLY challenging...i actually felt kinda like puking after the first set of 10 with 120 but i fought it back. after the second set i thought i would DEFINITELY puke but i was able to walk it out....hahah....whoa!
bb curls were next and my most favorite for today....i decided to warm up with just 40lbs on the barbell...did a set of 10 and WOW i swear it was almost orgasmic it felt so good!!! hell YEAH! i increased the weight to 45lbs for the next set, 50 for the next and 55 for the last....all sets felt friggin awesome....55 wasnt even that hard...for some reason my biceps are stronger than before! rock on!! and talk about PUMPED! i couldnt hold my arms normally after that very first set of curls...even still now i feel like i have air in my biceps! killer!!!!!!!
drag curls were last...started with 40lbs...up to 45 up to 50 for the last. all 3 went perfectly!

IM STOKED!!!!

i had planned to do a little yard work after the workout but my tummy did a summersault about 2 minutes after the workout and i had to RUN to the potty....ugh! im feeling much better now though...thank gawd!
