When doing the low carb, which is extremely effective, remeber to periodically boost your metabloism by refeeding your muscles with glycogen from healthy complex carbs eaten with essential fats to slow their absorbtion and lower the insulin spike.

yikes! im WAY too scared to add in anything yet....:chairhide: i am only on day 4 rock solid low carb  so i think ill ride the tide for a few months and then maybe ill refeed. i have major carb cravings after i go low carb and then reintroduce carbs.....even in the healthy category!!....not to mention i get all bloated and get a headache....haha....but i totally know what you mean and will consider it a little further down the road. thanks SO MUCH for your advice!

when i lost so much weight a few years ago doing low carb i never had a refeed and ended up losing 110lbs in 10 months! it was awesome....but as soon as i went off low carb and started listening to people tell me i HAD to have a certain amount of carbs to lift heavy (not to mention eating like crap and drinking lots of vodka....lol) i started to gain and havent lost weight since. hopefully my body will respond as well as before...but if it doesnt i hope it at least responds with 2-3 lbs a week!!! i am DETERMINED to make this work for me again.....and this time i plan to go even further and actually meet my goal weight!! :bringiton:

Good idea, hun. I always carry almonds in a baggie and some protein powder in tupperware just in case I get stuck somewhere that I don't have access to my meals or low carb foods. I have read back in your posts and it sounds like you are really on track and will be that way for a long time. Way to go, girl!!!

Wow Pamster, Glad you feel great. 1 Low carb day puts me in a nasty mood. Sounds like you're doing great. Glad to hear you wanted to do that extra cardio!!

You definately don't need carbs to train hard. I'll leave the heavy lifting to you. I hardly ever train heavy. It's heavy for me not compared to most people. Only when you see your results slowing, then refeed. You definately know your own body. Remember when you feel you need your next refeed to eat it SLOWLY with no water an hour before, or after. Also don't go to bed for at least an hour afterward.

I hear you on the next day bloating. Something tells me after tomorrow night I'm going to have some rumbling down below.

Stay strong. I've been totally sober for 2.75 years now. Instead of a 12 step program, I've done a few 12 rep programs.
