i have gone over my workout and i think i have pinpointed when i hurt myself.....i got a little sloppy when i was cleaning the barbell for my barbell step ups and i am pretty sure this is what messed me up...i remember thinking to myself that wasnt a very proper clean....kinda stronger on one side than the other and i had to make up for it.....as a matter of fact i am pretty certain thats when i pulled something....stoopid me.....but at least i dont think its anything serious....i will go light and in a few days i am sure it will be healing nicely....i promise to take it easy but im not stopping my lifting.....if it gives me more prollems in the future i will address them at that time....

i took a half a prescription pain killer thingy and am feeling no pain! night!

Sorry to hear of your back pain. I hope all is better for you today and the pain killer thingy helped you sleep well. Give your back some time to heal and don't do any spinal loading for a couple days.

You will be good as new real soon, I am sure.

For shizzle... I had that same pain in my neck.. but myne was from sleeping in that airplane seat... I got stuck in the middle and couldn't use the window as a prop..

Glad to hear that it's just temporary and feeling better already... hopefully a lil rest is all it takes..

well i slept like a ROCK last night after taking that half a qualude or whatever the hell it was.... ....all i know is i didnt feel any pain and i felt fantastic right before i fell asleep! hahahah!! i also had this really weird dream....

there had been a national distaster of some sort (my brain didnt go into what exactly) so people from all over the USA were traveling....trying to get to safer ground. we had been lucky enough to find a motel room but weirdly enough it was packed with newspapers in all the corners of the room....like stacks and stacks of newspapers....and it didnt have a real door, only a screen door so we could see all kinds of people peering into and walking past our room enviously....my mother-in-law's husband was there waiting for us in the room as if he lived there and we had this little japanese baby with us who at one point got lost in all the newspapers and i couldnt find him! all around us were voices of people trying to get a room...we were scared that soon the people would be forcing themselves into rooms even though they hadnt paid so we were trying to figure out what to do esp since we didnt have a real door we could lock!!...my MIL's hubby took out a HUGE cigar and lit it and looked like he was fixing to tell us a story when the next thing we know he was saying that the cops were there and that we'd better hide that cigar! LOL.....one of the last things i remember is catching a glimpse of the cops as they were walking up to our room....they had on those tall hats like the "bobbies" wear in europe (??) and had their billy clubs drawn and whistles in their mouths! i started freaking out because i couldnt find the baby in the newspapers again and then i woke up.....

purty trippy eh? hahahah!!!gotta love prescription pain killers!!

my pain is very minimal....its more like an irritation than real pain honestly...but this pain killer might not have worn off yet the way i feel...hahah.....i feel kinda groggy even though i also feel like a slept like a rock! i know i would fall right to sleep if i layed down and shut my eyes....lol..
but anyway....if i turn my neck a certain way i can feel pulling from the neck down to the mid lat area in my back on the left side....this was the same side that i was too fast on the clean with....makes sense....

yesterday i had my son step on my back and whoa baby snap crackle pop! i wish i had the funds to go get a massage....i feel like i am unaligned and in need of TLC.... .....once he stepped on my back i felt like a zillion times better though....crazy how out of whack our bodies can get!

ive also been slathering myself in icy hot....man that stuff helps a lot as long as you only put it where it hurts!

i am due at the neighbors house very soon...hopefully i will work all day and make some money....im BROKE!

ill be back later! hugs!

Hi Pammie Maybe it's just a slight muscle pull and with a little rest it will work itself out. Remember thats alot of weight you are cleaning, so make sure the form is good . Have a good day

Sweet Dreams

the thing is when i hurt myself i was cleaning a much lighter barbell (75lbs instead of 90lbs) so i pulled too hard anticipating more resistance and didnt get it so my left arm went up a bit faster than my right i think and i pulled something...

but yeah form is KEY....i lost focus for ONE SECOND! it wont happen again!

no time to sleep! i have to go to work!!!

Sometimes when we lift lighter weight we lose our concentration because the weight is lighter and throws off the form

Spinal loading is exactly that...putting weight or load on the spine, back or shoulder area..ie barbell, dumbbell, backpacks etc...You will want to rest the area as long as necessary.
Having put my back out from that exact same thing: cleaning a barbell to my shoulders for squats...I no longer do any barbell work across my back and shoulders. I only use BB's for deads or curls usually. Now I just do DB step-ups or DB lunges and squats. It's much safer, especially when handling heavy loads while dieting down.

Well hunny, just do some legs for now and let that back rest up some. Keep up the good work!
