okay ....time crunch tonite so it was not a total workout.

squats: 205/10, 255/10, 275/10, 295/10, ATG-4x115/10: a guy in the gym wanted to start doing some squats and i offered to go thru it with him....hence the 115 weight....gave me a good burn though after doing the other:fingersxd

barbell lunges: never done these before so i started off REALLY light: 3xbar/10

cable tri pushdowns: 90/15, 110/15, 130/10, 140/10, 150/5
standing tri extension w/curl bar: 3x50/20; way to light but was workin in with someone else and no time to keep adding and takin plates off.

i kinda like using the higher reps and good STRICT form....but i'm still having trouble putting my wanting to lift heavy ego aside. oh well might do me some good.

I really like BB lunges. I started light, too, but the weight came up really fast. I sropped when I put SLDLs back in. I probably didn't need to, but workouts were getting long otherwise.

Nice Squatz.

Yep after how many years of working out I still don't feel like I worked out when I'm not pushing for new personal best's on my lifts. I was thinking of going a month here just with high rep's to give my joints a break.

I will say the opposite... I spent about 8 months lifting medium weight with strict form and saw almost no gains... I mean none... I started lifting heavy again and shot up...

Ya I've been the same way Trick. I tend to lose size and strength with higher rep scheme's.

Hey there NS...wow you're doing lunges...killer!!! LoL I put them back in my routine too...I've never felt DOMs in my lower body the way I do when I include lunges. The next day I have to sit down real...slooooooooooowly.

I also did my squats with lower weight my last workout and did them with perfect form...did them nice and slow and my quads were burnin'! Think I'm gonna stick to doing them this way for a while.

Anyways..thanks for dropping by my journal NS...as always pleasure reading ya.

Have a great weekend!

~D~

thanks DF, trick D and dnyc. trick D i'll have to wait and see on what kinda progress i will get.....if nothing else it might give my body a little bit of a rest from the heavier weight(joints and stuff). it has to do something....maybe for you or me it won't do what we desire ...but there are plenty of people out there who respond to it. so who knows......i'll know eventually.

chest and triceps

Flat bench: 205/10, 225/6, 255/3, 275/1, 225/5, 205/7, 205/7, 185/8
Db incline: 2x55/10, 2x60/10
flyes: 3x50/10

Lying tricep ext: 90/10, 2x110/6, 90/10, 90/8
cgbp : 2x135/10(very slow and focused on tricep)
cable pushdowns : 80/20, 100/14, 120/8

with exception to bench all weight was considerably lighter. i do feel that i am getting more from the lighter weight as i focus and try to only work the primary muscle involved. very little momentum involved during each lift.
