Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | Ok - so, I've decided to start journaling over here again. I think this may be the place to be, huh? Anyway, from the beginning of August until really the last two weeks I was very inconsistent with workouts... almost nonexistant. Not sure what happened, besides getting sick, that is. I thnk maybe a bit of over training. So, two weeks ago, I went back at it, and after a couple of weeks of my "standard" training, I started a new cycle of what I call my "Hybrid" system - heavily DC influenced, but with a twist here and there. Yesterday was the first day of the Hybrid - here's how it went: As I said, this is heavily DC influenced - compound movements with rest pause sets with added isolation exercises with a bit higher reps, and of course, my favorite, extreme stretches. I got to the gym and realized I lost my spreadsheet So, I went from memory. Overall, I felt very energized and strong.Guide to the system: RP = Rest Pause Sets SS = Straight set H.S. = Hammer Strength Chest, Shoulders, Tris, Back Width, Back Thickness H.S. Incline Bench - 129lbs on each side, 9/3/1 RP (each set is to failure, 15 breath break, and back at it) Machine Fly - 140lbs SS 1x12 - serious burn with these. Only had a short rest after the last RP set on the inclines). Extreme Stretches H.S. Shoulder Press - 85lbs on each side, 10/5/2 RPs DB Laterals - 20lbs SS 1x15 - buuurrrnnn baby burn ![]() Extreme Stretches H.S. Dips - 274lbs 10/4/3 RPs Cable Pressdowns - 72.5lbs SS 1x15. Burrrn! ![]() Extreme Stretches Medium Grip Pulldowns - 170lbs 11/5/3 RPs. I was suprisingly strong on these and should have gone higher than 170. T-Bar Rows - 180lbs 2 SS 1x10. 1x8 No aparatus, and little room to put the bar in the corner. So I jam the bar under a support on the power rack and place a couple of 45's on the end to hold it down. The range of motion is a bit limited, so I'm kinda hunkered down to do these (bent at the knees more than normal). I think if I had a better set up, I would have been able to do more weight. I'll have to work on these. Like I said before, I felt nice and strong tonight. The head trainer of the place was watching me and asked me a bunch of questions about what I was doing. That felt good. Then he asked if I was going to enter the local NPC (?) show in April... I said HELL NO! But, it was nice to hear anyway. ![]() Later, folks! ![]()

1. Diet - I don't have the discipline to do it... To me, that's the absolute hardest part for me. THAT I know about myself. 2. Getting up on stage with an itsy bitsy, teeny weenie (no jokes there) posing suit thingy on is way out of my comfort zone. Seriously... couldn't do it. You get major props just for being able to do that, Chris, in my mind. I just don't think it's me... at least not now. ![]() I'll settle for "looking the part" and let you real bb'ers do the real thing. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | Another Hybrid training day... Biceps, forearms, calves, Hams, Quads RP=Rest Pause sets SS= Straight Set H.S.=Hammer Strength Machine DB Curls - 45lbs 12/5/4. RP - should have had a higher weight to start given the high number on the first set. DB Hammer Curls - 35lbs 1x12, 1x10 SS Extreme Stretches H.S. Calf Press - 270lbs 10 reps SS - dc style - exploding extension, slow back and hold the stretch position for count of 15. I'd forgotten how these hurt.H.S. Calf Press - 270lbs 1x25, SS. Normal movement to failure. Gironda Leg Curls - 100lbs 1x15, 1x12, SS Extreme Stretches Precor Leg Press - Heavy Set - 800 lbs for 8 reps. It's been a while since I've moved this much weight. Damn tough set tonight. That last one I was worried wasn't gonna get high enough to set the pins. 5 minute rest Precor Leg Press Widow Maker Set 620lbs for 18 reps. Barely got the last one up... knew it was time to quit or get smooshed. ![]() Normally, with my Hybrid program, I would have done a single set of 12 leg extensions, but decided my legs were fried. Extreme Stretches My legs feel like lead right now. I think that's a good thing... ![]() ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | Hybrid - Chest, Delts, Tris, Back Width, Back Thickness RP = Rest Pause SS = Straight Set H.S. = Hammer Strength H.S. Flat Bench - 144lbs on each side 8/3/1 RP back to where I left off on this in July. ![]() Machine Flyes - 145lbs 1x12 SS - up 5lbs Extreme Stretches Smith Shoulder Press - 155lbs 10/6/4 RP - should have been a bit higher on the weight given the 10 reps on the first pass. Side Laterals - 20lbs 1x12 SS - slow, strict form. Extreme Stretches Smith CGBP - 185lbs 8/4/3 RP I really don't like the particular Smith machines at my gym... the bar is difficult to hold in place. Cable Rope Pressdowns - 72.5lbs 2x12 Extreme Stretches Close Grip Pulldowns - 170lbs 8/8/5 RP (sort of) - MP3 player died after the first set thus the longer rest and more reps on the second RP.Straight Arm Pressdowns - 90lbs 1x12 Cable Rows - 1x10, 1x8 SS. Not happy with this one. Should have had more reps on the second straight set... just out of energy and couldn't do it. FYI - I always finish up with immediate post workout carbs (either dried pineapple, natty applesauce, or a banana, 4 BCAA caps, and 50 grams of protein drink. That's it for now - more fun tomorrow. Oh, by the way, I seem to be leaning out a bit, at least according to the mirror. Down 2lbs on the scale from 9 days ago, but it "looks" like more. Dunno... must be getting blind. ![]() Later! ![]()
