Hello 1st! Missed ya, my friend...been away in soccer heaven, eating and drinking far too much! I was reading over what I have missed in your life. I am sorry to hear about your friend that passed away...my heart goes out to you and your comrades.

On a happier note: Congrats on your PB! You're really maxing out, bigtime.:clapping: You're a bad ass! Take care...come back home soon!

Hey GDD...the Deadlift is just to impress me...and to lift big trucks off of friends that find themselves under the wheel.

Thanks JJ...hope you're enjoying your vacation.

Sorry for not stopping in sooner. Been busy as of late. I got back in from our last mission at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Slept from around 4 to 8, slept again from 10 to 1200, and again from 3 to 7:30. Then went back to bed at 1:00 and woke up this morning feeling like myself again. It's been a long week. Anyhows...it's Monday boys and girls and you know what that means........Chest Day!!!!! Yea!

Flat: 135 x 15, 225 x 10, 275 x 8, 315 x 5, 315 x 1
Incl: 135 x 10, 205 x 10, 245 x 6, 275 x 3
Decl 225 x 10 for four sets
DB Pullovers: 80 x 10, 100 x 10 for four sets
Incl Flyes: 40 x 10 for two sets, 40 x 8 for three sets

Now it's time to feed the machine...I'll come back online tonight and play catch up with ya'll's threads.

Thanks NewSpawn...unfortunately I've more internet problems of late than I care to talk about...Hence my absence from my thread. Anyhows, it's been an interesting week.

Tuesday was leg day, and I knew I wasn't going to go heavy, still in the recovery mode after last week. Well my partner tells me today is the day...he's going to beat me. We go through the normal drill, 135, 225, 315, 405, 495...I stop there and tell him it's all up to him now.

He goes to 525...does 3 reps....545...two reps...555 (5 lbs over my best)....gets under the bar...clears the rack....down....and CRASHES the bar. I make sure he's okay...and ask if he wants to try again...he says yeah. So while he's getting his legs back under him I clear the bar, rerack it and reload it.

Second attempt...gets under the bar...clears the rack...backs up a few feet...goes down...hits parallel.....and up!...one....goes down...up!...two...goes down....and crashes again...but hey...he beat me solid with two good reps....I was quite proud. Unfortunately he torqued his knee a bit on the second crash so the workout abruptly ended.

Yesterday was back:
Bent over row: 135 x 10, 165 x 10, 195 x 10, 225 x 6, 225 x 8
Shrugs: 225 x 10, 275 x 10, 315 x 10, 365 x 5 for two sets
Hyper Ext. Roman Chair w/DB: 25 lb x 10, 50 x 10, 70 x 10 100 x 9
DB Rows: 70 x 10, 80 x 10, 100 x 6 for two sets

Today was shoulders...nothing of note...not too heavy, not too light.

If I feel good...next week I'm going for a 575 squat.

At least the MRE's are better now then they used to be 10 years ago.
Can you believe my Commissary is actually selling MRE's now?
They want 7.95$ for just 1 pack. Yikes.

What kind food are you getting over there? Just MRE's or do you have an actual Mess hall with a Cook?

Here they changed the way they do the Mess hall now. Instead of paying 1.95$ for Breakfast they break it up now and you pay for what you get. I think Bacon is like 30 cents a piece and a roll is like 20 cents, then you pay for each slice of cheese and stuff. It is getting crazy now. Still cheaper than MCDonalds though.

We actually have a messhall and a cook. Although our food is still prepackaged frozen out of a box stuff. It's just gotten kinda boring after 7 months of the same things day in and day out. I can't wait to get back home and hit the Waffle House. I've been eating there M-F nearly every week for almost 5 solid years. I like being able to sit, read my paper, and enjoy my coffee in relative peace and quiet. I hadn't heard about the change in the mess halls pricing, this kinda scares me a bit since I have a very healthy appetite at breakfast. To put it in perspective...at IHOP...my bill runs around $12-15...for just me. Waffle House is a bit cheaper but it's still close to $10.

I hear ya. No idea if it is just our Mess hall or all of them. Waffle house is da bomb! Love it. Ihop in my opinion is way to expensive. Especially with 4 people eating there. The other day we went to Waffle house and I got the special there (cannot remember what it was called), but I ended up getting Bacon, 2 eggs, Toast and 1 waffle and hashbrowns for 6.95$ plus my coffee ( I think it was 1.95$). Not too bad and it was a lot of food. I ended up giving some to my kids to finish cause I couldn't eat it all.

Four eggs scrambled, no yolk, swiss cheese, waffle, grits, dry wheat toast, coffee, ice water, occasionally the hamsteak. I can't remember what it costs anymore. Great...my mouth's gonna water all day.

Hello all, it's been a busy week around here and I apologize for not keeping up with my thread. I'll try to recap the workouts in the next couple of posts. Last Friday was Bis and Tris:

Tricep Press Down: 60 x 10, 70 x 10, 80 x 9, 90 x 9, 90 x 6
Seat Alt DB Curl: 20 x 10, 30 x 10 for four sets
Kickbacks: 20 x 10 for 5 sets
Rev EZ Curls: 55 x 10 for 5 sets

CONGRATS on the PB! Golly, talk about not messing around and whoopin' sum butt. Just curious, when you're doing your side lying lat, do you do it on an incline bench or flat on the floor lying on your side? I've seen it done a few different ways to change the center of gravity.

Have a great weekend!

Hey ya'll sorry I've been gone for so long, no real good excuse except that I've been wrapped up in my own little world. Went out on a mission last week and ended up in a good firefight, press reported 18-20 bad guys, we estimate closer to 30, the important thing though is that no one on our side got hurt.

Hey JJ...as for my lying side laterals, I use a flat bench.

I do have some new news...I set a new PB again yesterday on the squat, 585 for two...no real reason, except that I secretly wanted to use every 45 lb plate we had in the gym. I think I'm done with going heavy for awhile. Let my body recover for awhile.

I do have a question for any of the powerlifters in the forum, I now have a three lift total of 1435 lbs (350 bench, 500 DL, and 585 Squat); my question is, is this a respectable total? Doesn't matter really as I'm proud of what I was able to accomplish but I was curious as to how it stacked up. Thanks

There's whole lot of us in our own little worlds lately. I'm afraid I've been quite the stranger, too. Great work against the bad guys!

I may not be one of the "powerlifters in the forum", but i think that's a helluva lotta poundage. I hope to be proud of that too someday.

I am not a powerlifter, but I train with two guys who are. I have attended a few competitions.

Here are the World Records for the American Powerlifters Association:
http://apa-wpa.com/mensworldrecord.htm

All classes are recorded by age and weight and there are drug tested events and non drug tested events.

World Records for Men's 198 lb class, age 33-39 Drug tested:
Squat 635
Bench 580
Deadlift 645
Total 1665

Of course these are world record scores. Your individual lifts and 1435 total would be respectable in most competitions. You probably would do well in local and regional meets.

Stay safe.
