Default Re: A.FreeRadical's transformation thread

Thanks JJ, I'll take a look at as soon as I get a minute to spare.

I missed Leg Day (Too much going on in my life right now.) I am going to do an Upper Body Day this afternoon. As to my weight I didn't gain or lose while on my trip (That is good considering how many beers I drank. ) I am down .5 lb. today so I'll update my sig and try to hang onto that loss or even turn it into a full 1 lb today or tomorrow.

I hear ya on the busy life/relocation thing. I'm here by myself and it's all I can do to keep on track. Always hate to miss a leg day.

As far as buying property, it is abuyers market, but unfortunately my sellers don't know that yet. And rates keep going up......

Best of luck to ya.

Yeah, I know. I am a buyer and a seller. I can't buy until I sell. (I can, but I am not in a strong negotiating position without cash.) Oh well, I am sitting here waiting for a call from my broker for my home. My buyer was supposed to close on his property today. No news is no news.

Heh. I'm in a similar boat today. 3rd offer, 3rd house. They have to respond by 5. All we've heard so far is they wanted our pre-approval letter.

Like you said. No news is no news.

It felt good to workout again. This past month has been the pits with Hay Fever and traveling. I am going to get my conditioning phase over with this weekend. Today was mostly upper body. Tomorrow will be an abreviated Leg Day. And Sunday will be an abreviated Back and Traps day. Tuesday will start off a more normal cycle.

Sounds like a good plan. Took me about two weeks to settle into a normal cycle again. Now I'm there, I just can't move the poundage.... yet.

Doesn't it feel great to be back at it!! DOMS rocks!

Default Saturday was an abreviated Leg Day

Yes, it is great, even the DOMs, Rasp.

My gym has decided to close early (4 p.m.) because there aren't many patrons. There aren't many patrons because many of them have gone to LA Fitness since it opened in Janurary. La Fitness is open late on weekends. Nuckleheads.

I still managed to get my workout mostly done in less than an hour. I had to cut the calf routine short.

Leg Press machine,
1 x 180 x 16
1 x 270 x 12
3 x 360 x 6 (damn, that was difficult)

Stability Ball Crunches,
1 x bw x 100

Leg Curl machine,
3 x 115 x 8

Core Mat exercises,
1 set of various

Leg Extention machine
3 x 80 x 12

Stability Ball crunches with a medicine ball behind my head
1 x bw + 10 x 100 (now that was crunching, oooh)

Seated Calf Raise machine,
2 x 200 x 25

Then they kicked ALL 3 of us out of the gym because it was closing time.

Tomorrow shall be Back Day.

Default Diet

I am reading the Cut Diet that JJ posted in this thread. It is similar to Rob Faigin's Natural Hormone Enhancement Diet. Which I tried for several months. I did think it had some merit. I felt very good while on that diet and my testosterone levels increased during that time period.

I am only 33% through the Cut Diet, so I won't comment on it yet. The author, of the Cut Diet, Marc Lobliner, doesn't advice a post workout insulin spike (vie Shake and dextrose or other sugars) for those who are cutting. He advices a protein shake sans carbs during workouts with a real meal post workout. I am glad to see that someone who has studied the science of fat loss has joined me on that one. I gave up on PWO suger shakes over a year ago with no detriment to muscle preservation. I'll post more on this later, but, from what I have read so far, I think this author is on the right track.

Agreed. It seems like a solid plan...I basically follow it to a "T". It is challenging when one is used to being lax on the diet, like I have been in the past. However, After just 7 days of use, I have seen results in my physique. I am leaner through the belly (sans carbs, hehe). I hope you are able to use this information to further your fitness goals, my friend. Have a good week

Let's see if I got this right.

Eat Protein and good fats (fibrous veggies allowed) for two days.
On the third day eat Low GI starchy carbs (e.g. sweet potato, oat meal) with good fats to replenish glucose levels.
Repeat.

Is the diet on the third day just one meal or more than one meal?
Are substitutes allowed on all days as long as I follow the general guidelines,

The reason I am asking is, I have a hard time following a strict (eat this, then eat that) diet. I am eating out often and my wife is doing the cooking these days. I can follow this diet, in principle, but I can't eat a baked sweet potato for lunch every 3 days. That just is not going to happen.

The carb up meal is every 18th meal - at night. It has to be eaten in the order laid out in the menu plan. You can eat the substitutes on every meal, but the carb meal. As long as the macros add up, you have your choice of proteins, fats and fibrous veggies.

I agree it can be hard to follow for most people who have a lot more responsibility than I do..no kids, just cook, eat, train, work, sleep. I admit it, I have no life ... LOL

Ok. "Macros add up" per meal or per day. (I think I know the answer, just checking.

Hahaha , and I am looking forward to having "no life".
