Default Yoga and fasted cardio


I got up early and joined the Hot Yoga class. This is an hour yoga class that is held in the heated swimming pool area. Needless to say, I was dripping for an hour. I think they should call it slippery yoga.

After that I did fasted cardio. 24 minutes on the elliptical and 21 minutes on the inclined treadmill. I burned 600 calories. I listened to the Best of the Animals.

Stability Ball Crunches and Rotated Crunches, 2 x bw x 100

This afternoon is Upper Body.

I don't normally do fasted cardio, but I am anxious to break through to 176 lbs.

Hot yoga, is there any other kind???...with all those chicks in lycra and belly tops! Every guys dream! LOL

Good to hear youre complimenting your training with yoga. Of course, being a yoga instructor, I applaud all BB's who add yoga to their body conditioning arsenal. Good on ya! I am surprised you did it fasted, then topped it off with more cardio...I am usually fully drained after yoga, can hardly move, feeling so relaxed and at peace. Did your class include Savasana, final relaxation?

Thanks. I used to do yoga at my gym two times per week. The instructor quit and I didn't like the new one so I stopped going. I have missed it and decided to go back. Yes there is a relaxation period at the end. (I had coffee before going to yoga and that had me pretty wired.) Yes, I reccommend doing some yoga to anyone lifting weights. It is really complimentary to resistance training. Most guys tell me they won't do it because they aren't flexible and don't have good balance. hahaha! You know my answer to that.

Thanks Hibby! Try Ashtanga Yoga. I tried that once. It is fast paced with one asana after another in rapid succession. You wont have time to think about hurrying up.

Default Friday was my day off from lifting...

I burned 900 calories on the elliptical and the inclined treadmill today.

Tonight is a refeed night. I am going to have spaghetti with marinara sauce with sauted oninon, peppers, diced tomatos, mushrooms and hot Italian sausage. and a slice of garlic bread. Plain nonfat yogurt and blueberries will be dessert.

Tomorrow is Back and Abs Day.

I did enjoy the refeed meal. It was exactly what I expected. Yummmm.

I got up this morning and made brown rice italiano: A.FreeRadical's Bodybuilding Recipe Collection (minus the meat and beans). I love this on 6 egg whites in the morning. Next, I will make my post-workout meal, tuna fish salad. (I usually eat this on a whole wheat english muffin.) A.FreeRadical's Bodybuilding Recipe Collection

Pullups, 3 x bw x 8 (1 each wide grip, chinup and hammer grip.)

Seated Cable Rows, 3 x 180 x 6
T-bar Rows, 3 x 135 x 10


I burned 300 calories on the inclined treadmill post-workout. I listened to the Rolling Stones, Hot Rock Disc 1.
