Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 30 | Hmmm. Lettuce Wrap? Sounds good. I really don't like any "risen" breads. If it weren't for raw oats, I'd never get any carbs. ![]() Good luck with your diet. *R*

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 27 | Howdy girl, Good on ya doing the SBD. I know it has worked for a lot of people. I bet you'll do fine and lose all the wt. you want. Lettuce wraps sound yummy. Occasionally, I eat a cheeseburger that way. It takes away some of the guilt of eating a whole huge bun. hehehe ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 184 | Thanks dbflgirl (your welcome. ) , RaSP and JJ. ![]() I was reading over the list of acceptable foods for phase 1 and it does include milk! Yay! Dairy Products Allowed on the South Beach Diet The South Beach Diet allows most low-fat dairy products, including the following foods: South Beach Diet Phase One Dairy Products 2-3 cups daily of any of the following are allowed: Milk (fat-free and 1%) 1% or fat-free buttermilk Low fat goat's milk Soy Milk - Low-fat plain, vanilla, or sucralose-containing soy milk (4 grams of fat or less per cup) [I realize that this could include some very high sugar soy milks, so check out this soy milk information Laura] Fat-free plain yogurt (see also Yogurt on a Low Carb Diet) Small amounts of fat free or reduced fat sour cream Nonfat plain kefir Fat free or low fat evaporated milk (NOT condensed milk) Fat free powdered milk or buttermilk Fat-free half & half (less than 2 tablespoons) - [Actually, the status of this product vis a vis the South Beach Diet is unclear to me, as it is not mentioned in the lists of the most recent book. Also, I can't find an ingredient list for this product, which makes me suspicious of it as a food product. South Beach Diet Food Lists: Dairy Foods On another site the amounts allowed of Dairy products - very small amounts to none. LoL (which makes sense cause milk is higher in carbs and creams high in fat). Quote:
Anyways, it's about eating right and I think dairy products in moderation are good on any diet. But, so far I've lost 5lbs this week of course probably all water weight but, my tummy isn't so bloated (waist on pants are not as snugg) and my rings fit better so it's all good. I may just put off on the dairy until Phase 2 which isn't too far away anyways...1 more week! ![]() I'm going back to my 'eating right' days so I'm going to start digging out all my healthy versions of recipes I collected over the past. RaSP....Lettuce wraps... Quote:
Here's the link: Lettuce Wraps The Asian Chicken in Lettuce Wraps looks great. I've tried something similar in the past on the Atkins diet. I'll adjust the recipe a tad (make it lower in fat and carbs) but, it should turn out great for my meals. ![]() I'm going to work on making crepes (using just eggs) and use them for wraps too. JJ...I use to do the same with hamburgers...remove the bun. Anything to make it healthier and "take some of the guilt away". LoL Anyways...wishing everyone a terrific weekend! Hugs, ~D~
