Week 1 of 2 @ 50-70% of 1RM w/ explosive reps. Mon. Flat Bench 80 x 10 120 x 8 145 x 8 155 x 8 165 x 8 Incline Bench 75 x 8 90 x 8 Wide Grip Pullups BWx3x4 Dumbell Rows 65 x 8 75 x 8 85 x 8 Thurs. (usually Wed.) Squats w/ bar 5 x 25 Lunges w/ bar 1 x 20 Hammy Curls ...starting over with these...get cramps! 15# x 15 20# x 15 Standing Calf Raises 35 30 Fri. Seated Militaries 50 x 8 65 x 8 75 x 8 85 x 8 90 x 8 Barbell Curls 50 x 10 75 x 8 85 x 8 EZ bar Hammer Curls 30 x 10 45 x 8 50 x 8 Skull Crushers 45 x 8 55 x 8 65 x 8 Close Grip Bench Press 75 x 8 85 x 8 105 x 8 |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 8 | Thanks for the welcome guys.. Gameday, I meant Tricep bar actually, but usually have done them with dumbells. The way I have been training has taken my strength up pretty good, but hypertrohy has not been as much as hoped for. My best Bench was 250, Dumbell rows 105, and I haven't really gone for a max on curls, but I'll put that around 115. Notice that I haven't said anything about squats.. that's because my back is junk(hernaited disc), so Intensity/high reps are the protocol on legs.When I started all this working out nonsense, a 300 bench before age forty was my goal...I find that now hypertrophy is more appealing and I'd rather LOOK like I bench 300. The problem with this is that strength comes faster than size for me...and I'm not a patient person...lol! stats: 5'10" and stuck @ 200# I plan to take some measurements in order to set some priorities with my training...or maybe get depressed. ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | If ya really want to see more chest growth.. I'll suggest doing the incline's fyrst.. & then flat.. I read up on thys a whyle ago and it's based totally on muscle groups & science.. Nowadays tho, I don't bother to explain it in detail.. I just suggest it & follow it as well.. (Of course I take my own advyce) It may lower the numbers on your flat bench some so be careful, if you give it a shot.. Peace..~G

Seated Militaries 50 x 8 70 x 5 80 x 5 90 x 5 95 x 5 110 x 5 Dumbell Shrugs 55's x 15 (x2) Barbell Curls Bar x 25 40 x 20 45 x 15 50 x 12 Tricep Dips BWx6 BW+10 x 5 BW+25 x 5 BW+50 x 5 BW+60 x 5 Supersets: Dumbell Hammer Curls 30's x 12 (x2) French Press 65 x 8...oops!...dips got me pretty good apparently. 55 x 10 Overall, I'm Happy with this workout... I chose to back way off of the poundage with the bicep work, as the tendon in my right arm is being grumpy with me. To make it interesting, I put more emphasis on the negative and squeeze at the top with each progressive set on the BB curls. The high reps should do some good with all the blood getting pumped in there.. or piss it off more! huh.gif It was actually enjoyable doing the curls like that. thumbs.gif |

The bench wasn't looking good at the bottom, but once the bar was up a couple inches, she went on up. thumbs.gif Since I'm going to do HST for my next routine, it will probably shoot my PR's all to hell! ...if there is some hypertrophy gained, it will be a fair trade though. |
