Now, you know you've been eating clean for too long when your idea of an indulgent cheat is a bowl of cereal with skim milk! LOL, but there you have it. I am a happy camper right at this moment.

I have a friend coming to visit next month and I am sort of dreading it. I mean, I love the idea of seeing her as she is one of my oldest and dearest friends. But she is not going to understand my eating habits at all... and it doesn't help that she is seriously overweight and thinks I am "skinny" to begin with. I haven't seen her since I started lifting and eating in earnest. I have a feeling it's going to be a tough week nutritionally.

Anyone else deal with this?

Yeah... just keep doing what you're doing and if she doesn't lyke your food choices... point her toward the nearest fast food or delivery restaurant..

When I cleaned up my diet.. my friends thought I was crazy when I'd open up a can of tuna or pull out a jar of peanut butter and start eating... but now they don't thynk anythyng of it...

I'm not preparing for a contest or anythyng.. but I know if I want maximum results I have to put in maximum work... in & out of the gym... but if she's really a great friend.. she'll understand and let it go...

Ok.. I have to bring up Rich... Rich & I were drinkin' buddies... we could kill a whole bottle of Cruzan rum or whatever they placed before us... Since I stopped drynking... my other friends were lyke wow, that's cool... but Rich seems to hate me for it... Whyle my other friends will go to the bar and bring me back an iced tea or a soda or bottled water... Rich comes back with a beer for me... then makes faces when I refuse to drink it... "Come on, drink... drink.. drink.." ... I tried to tell him, I was styll his drynkin' partner.. except I drink water & iced tea.. but that's not good enough... Long story short... Rich & I rarely hang out anymore... and that's cool with me... cause true friends respect your decisions and help you to reach your goals... (unless your goal is to blow yourself up & do somethyng really stupid..) ...

It's not that she won't respect my decision. It's that it becomes more than just the food, kwim? Like not wanting to go out for lunch except at places where you know you can eat what you need to, or frankly, preferring to eat at home. For a one day visit, it's no biggie, but she's going to be here a week.

Oh well. I'll figure it out. As I said....

At least I know that you guys understand!

I was talking with a friend the other day, and the subject of a new restaurant in town came up.

They were shocked that we hadn't been there yet.

Then I mentioned that except for the one week we went on vacation to Mexico in May, Kendra and I haven't been out to eat at all this entire year.

The last time we went to a restaurant in the United States was last year over the Holidays.

That just completely floored my friend.

Now, it's been a busier than usual year for us this year, so we aren't typically that strict. But, it's still a reflection of the choice you make when you choose to change your body.

People who don't do what we all do, just have a hard time understanding.

LOL - I so relate to this! Last night was our anniversary so we went out to dinner. I resolved that I would allow myself a cheat since I take those really rarely and we've also not been out to dinner in ages. So what was my cheat: Sashimi and a bowl of white rice. And 2 sips of Saki - I wanted it until I tasted it and then the desire just left me.
