Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 668 | I know this thread has been done, but my thread is stressing the why part, not just the name. My first favourite was Gunter, and the reason is simple. He was the first IFBB pro bb'er I saw after I had passed the stage in my life when pro bb'ers were repulsive looking to me. But, after I started to get into the pro bb'ing scene more (from a fan perspective of course, not that I don't bodybuild but obviously I can't be compaired to these guys) I developed a strong liking towards Dexter Jackson, and lesser so to Darrem Charles. I really like triceps, and Charles I think has really good triceps, and Dexter I like for his symetery, and all that stuff. I'm curious how many out there acutally like Ron the most. EDIT: Or Cutler for that matter. |

My favorite bodybuilder is Arnold. I just respect the man for being a great role model and abassador for the sport. I have no desire to meet any hollywood stars but Arnold I would be thrilled to. He's such an interesting and funny guy I'm sure he'd be cool. I'm also impressed in the way he's brought up his children and treat's his wife. :nosthumbs

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | Are we talking about past or present bodybuilders?? ... I mean that in the sense of those currently & actively competing... lyke Coleman, Dexter, Troy Alves, etc.. or all time.. lyke Dorian, Lee Haney, Arnold... etc.. ??? When I started lyfting, I wanted to look lyke Vince Taylor... Although I admired Lee Haney & Dorian Yates... for their backs... Then came Flex Wheeler & Shawn Ray... Unfortunately, I drifted away from bodybuilding... Only occasionally working out... but outta current competitors you have to love Dexter Jackson's physique as it seems actually possible to have his type of physique... Richard Jones & Kris Dim have great physiques as well... I guess I base my opinions on who has physiques that seem attainable by me... and which bodybuilder in contest ready condition, would I want to look lyke all the time.. If that made sense.. - aka - Dexter Jackson's contest ready physique is how I'd lyke to look all the tyme... Peace..~G

GameDayDog, I forgot to specify, it can be anyone (good thinking) I forgot and was only thinking of current guys. In the past i'd probably say Quadzilla or Yates. And what you said about Jackson makes sense, and I agree. Although i'd like to be a LITTLE less muscular than that, but same astetic value.

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | My favorite physque of all time is flex wheelers... he was nuts. Huge muscles and tiny joints. He was great. I am a dexter, ruhl, and darrem charles fan now. They are my favorites, but I respect so many bodybuilders. 90% of them I like for some reason or another. Either conditioning, mass, or just being nice. Branch Warren i didn't care for that much, although I thought his legs were rediculous. Then I met him, and he is a very personal guy. I mean he talks to his fans and appreciates them. So after that, I jumped on his band wagon. Unfornately Kevin Levrone is not on my list of favorite bodybuilders. He is an asshole, doesn't care about his fans, and is greedy. And in my opinion Dexters physique isn't obtaninable. Just because his conditioning is unheard of, He gains weight going into a competition (I have no idea how he does it), and he doesn't have to run cardio like other people to cut. He is a freak. His muscles are also huge for his size. At 5'6 if he was Coleman's size (5'11) I think they would be around the same mass. Dexter has always been a little coleman to me with better conditioning.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Franco Columbu is mine. I've always been a fan of the guys who are not only bodybuilders, but true strongmen. Franco seemed to have a density and hardness that no one else of his time had. Plus, he's short like me, so I kind of identify with him there. Although I'm not as short as him, we seem to have similar proportions (skeleton-wise......mass-wise, I wish!). Plus, when he talks, he kind of reminds me of my Italian grandpa ![]()

And to think he lived the American dream, and wasn't even a natural born citizen. Plus, bodybuilding was his gateway. To me, he is up there with my brother and dad in terms of role models.

You give me too much credit bro, but thanks. You're right about Arnold and his physique. Pro bodybuilders today have sacrificed that quality aesthetic appearance for blocky, massive physiques, that in all honesty, most people find repulsive. If that's what some people are after then, by all means, go for it. However, I prefer the Golden Era of bodybuilding look.

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | I hate lou too, just because he is an ass to kids. He had a big sign up front for autographs at the arnold 20 bucks a pop. Heard horror stories of him running to kids parents and ask for money. He is an ass. And the whole calf implants of 1992 (I think) pissed me off too.

But I'd have to say my fav BB'er right now is Dexter. I'm just so sick of the GH gut overly massive BB'ers (Ronnie, Jay, etc). Dexter's got a great look, and is cut. That's what BB should be awarding. The other guys, IMO, are just freaks. Oh, and I put this dancing thing in here because I like it. I have no idea what it is, but it's great! :fruity:

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | Heh, we got some good smilies yeah, Dexter would have won every olympia to date til about 1992 depending on judging. I think he could have taken haney. But it is all about opinions and apparently the opinions of judges are different than mine.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | Man, if they gave Dexter the "O" .. it would really change the look and direction of bodybuilding for the better... However, they've been saying they were gonna give more points for symmetry & definition instead of pure mass... since Lee Haney was Mr. "O" ... It would probably reduce the pro's "supplementation" budget as well... Peace..~G
