I don't see ANY of the BBers from the golden age being an asshole to people now, and there are plenty that did just as much, if not more then he did. Well, they didn't win an award for worst actor (Lou did) but hey, that doesn't really count.

He was famous BECAUSE of his fans. By turning them away by acting as he does he secures himself as a has been, and will be remembered for what he is NOW, not how he was.

Arnold charges a lot more than $20 for an autograph. But then again, he is Arnold. A movie star, 7 time Olympian, and the father of modern bodybuilding.

I agree with this. You cannot be an ass to fans, within reason. There are plenty of baseball players that charge. So I don't care about a $20 charge unless it was some handicapped kid. He was more famous in detroit but for the Detroit Tigers ALan Trammel when he became a jahovahs witness he signs NO autographs regardless. He used too so autographed alan trammel cards are worth something. The guy is generally nice and will talk to ya and shake your hand and stuff but no autographs.

It's the lawsuit that you cannot say he is not an ass. That wall & making things green that is not for profiting that was a FATHERS PRIDE IN HIS SON. If that wall was up there for a long time it will be defeated, maybe taken down but defeated. If he had a demanding father then his brother did too. Much longer than him too if he was the business partner with him. Lou will lose the suit. Also Ferringo fitness if it is brothers site will stay that way you can put your name on anything legally and it's not a trademark. Anybody with the last name Ferringo can name thier stuff that so long as it is thier name logos other story. Cyber squatting is only if site not used but registered to make money. If my name was Hugh Heffner and I started a sex store I could get sued but bieng my natural name I can legally use it, not the bunny but name yes.

being a celeb is most likely a very difficult thing....i have never met Lou, but i am sure he has his good and bad moments like all of us. i have to say in regards to children ALL celebs have a duty to at least TRY to be a decent role model....a persona is one thing, but in the actual presence of a child i think all peeps should try to lose their anger and judgement and respond in a calm and sincere way.....course then you could get into the whole conversation on how adults would exploit kids to get the signatures or photos to sell for profit...so its a very confusing and complicated situation IMHO...kudos to all those BBs who sign for free, but i can also see getting stuck signing all day if you dont put limits on it.....$10 seems fair to me!

as for the law suit...its strange that it took so long for him to decide to sue....i can see him wanting to have sole rights to the name he uses for his company...but making a big deal out of the green color or wall of fame is ridiculous and petty....i am curious what type of relationship he has with his brother and his wife? if they had a good relationship i can totally see that they would be proud of him and want others to know he was a part of their family....but otherwise it would seem as if they WERE kinda overexaggerating their current relationship with him.....course that also depends on so many things...it was still no reason for him to sue...seems like they could have tried to work something out quietly...

course in the meantime Lou's brother's gym is getting a LOT of free publicity!!

My two cents..... I met Ferrigno about 10 years ago. He was signing autos at the opening of a gym in my town. I was one of the escorts (bodyguards) that stood by while he met with fans. He never acknowledged me or my buddies, not a thank you, nothing! No eye contact whatsoever. When it was over he left. It was if we were never there. I volunteered to do this without any compensation, just to get a chance to meet him. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. Duirng this event, I observed Lou shake hands and smile only at people who paid money, $20.00 for a photo and more (I dont remember how much)for his book. Fans without money were turned away.
I'm reading all these excuses about his upbringing. I'm not buying it!! Not everyone with poor childhoods turn into criminals. I have much more respect for those who are able to overcome those tough childhoods, become famous and still remember those who look up to them and made them what they are. Show some respect and humility for god's sake!!! All this negitivity about Ferrigno is of his own doing. I feel sorry for him...
