I don't know if anyone has heard this yet, but Masters Mr. Olympia Don Youngblood passed away at age 51 from a massive heart attack.

That's sad news indeed.

I never met Don, but I know one of his good friends and sometime training partner, Roger Bullington from Arkansas.

Roger and I discussed Don's training and then, future plans, while we talked at the Junior Nationals last year.

You just never know when your time is going to be up.

I'm sure he will be missed.

He was one of us old farts.

He was a friend and hero of mine. http://donyoungblood.com/

He decided to cheat the reaper one more time and lost. That was his way.

The last time I saw him I kidded him about his big yellow Hummer looking like a bus that the special kids ride on.

I can remember him with that big ole smile.

That's a good thing.

Unbelievable that a guy like that dies at 51.

I hope if he has any children that they are at least already grown.

I think of it like this - plenty of non bobdybuilders/athletes have heart conditions while they are in their 30s. Why is it so strange that a bodybuilder/athlete has one? I'm sure there are plenty of people with heart conditions who don't even know about it. The only difference is that we don't hear about the other people, but when a famous bodybuilder dies its big news. Theres always specualtion about the cause of death, drug use, etc. Is it no so hard to believe that a young guy simply died because of pre-existing heart conditions and not drugs?

I posted a link that to his obituary if anyone wants to send condolences on-line it gives a link.

Yes, I know it doesn't mention anything about his bodybuilding accomplishments and that is the way his wife wanted it I am told. So that needs to be respected.

I'm shocked that they didn't mention his accomplishments on his obituary.
