Truthfully, I don't know what the big deal is with Arnold. People seem to love him so much, but his body is nothing special IMO compared to his contemporaries.

If you think he represents a golden age, well, it wasn't so much a golden age. Watch Pumpin Iron. Look at how he tricks his competitors mentally, I think it's just disgusting.

No offence to anyone, I just don't see what is so great about him.

We all know at least one of those times was pretty sketchy, and anyway, nobody makes such a big deal out of Lee Haney, or Ronnie Coleman, while they have much more developed bodies.

think of the advances in science that we have had. Coleman has a bit of an advantage, IMO.

I understand that Arnold maybe shouldn't have won the 7 titles he did win, but to say he is underrated is to say that ronnie doesn't have big arms.

I believe that sergio oliva should have beaten him a few times, and in 1980 he probably shouldn't have won, But he is still the most prodominent name in bodybuilding. Yes, he was 6'0-6'2 and only weighed 250 at his best, but he was the greatest in my opinion. He knew how to market, and if HGH, and other roids would have been used in the 1970's, he would have been as big as any.

Overrated. His legs were twigs, and compared to his competetors he was nothing phenominal.

But he was a great leader for bodybuilding, theres no question about that. His physique though? Overrated.

What do you think Arnold (in the 70's and 80's) would say about our current bodybuilding stars? He would probably say their legs are too big, and they are too huge and disgusting looking. To say "His legs were twigs, he sucked ballz" is ignorant. It all depends on what was aesthetically pleasing at the time. He wasn't bodybuilding for 2005 judges, he was bodybuilding for 1970's judges!

I liked Arnold physique in his prime. Todays pros are just freaky. Where are the aesthetics and symmetry? It's all about the size and to hell with aesthetics. I sure hope Ben sticks to what he said in FLEX this month and he does go back to a more old skool judging style. Then I won't be hearing anymore shit from Ronnie Coleman!! I can't stand him!! I'd really like to see some testing in the pro ranks for those that don't want to go on the juice to have 1/2 a chance.
