Default Whey Protein

I was thinking of buying it but I never did :/
It's just powder that I mix with water so it has protein. Like protein water? And does it tase the same or the flavored ones work good with water? And if it says 40grams, is it really that much or is it like 20-30 grams because it's not a real food.

I just mix it with a liquid and its the liquid+all the protein??

It's just a powder and you can either mix it with milk or water. Most come flavored with choco, strawberry, and vanilla but some brands have quite a variety of flavors. If it's a good company like Optimum Nutrition and it says it has 23g of protein per scoop then it has 23g of protein per scoop. Even if it's off a gram or two it isnt that big of a deal.

OK you have a few misconceptions about protein. There are many different forms and sources that you can get your protein from. The most common powder form's are Soy and Whey. In the case of Whey it's a part of milk that used to be skimmed off and discarded. They found that by filtering it they could produce a very rich source of protein from it. You can mix Whey powder with water, juice, or milk depending on your tastes and needs. You'd definately want a flavoured Whey if your having it with water since it doesn't taste that great on it's own. If a Whey serving size says 40g it's usually filled with additives so depending on the product itself the actual amount of protein per serving can vary greatly. Most product's will tell you the protein content per serving. You don't necessarily need powdered protein it's just a convenient way to get your content for the day. Read this thread and it should help you on your way.. PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN, and it's foods

dont be gettin that soy shit. bad BV %, not nearly as absorbable as whey or basically any meat. Also slightly estrogenic, its been shown to be not significantly estrogenic, but why even risk it?

erh, point is, get that whey! :nosthumbs
