I tried Ginko but I honestly didn't find any difference. I know 5-htp is effective for those with serotonin deficit and I've heard it's good for post ecstasy recovery for those so inclined. I'll stick with my banana's and their L-Tryptophan for my happy mind drug. By the way great to see you finally posting bro.

What are Nootropics? Nootropics, also called “smart drugs” are classified as substances that have the ability to:
  • Enhance learning
  • Enhance memory
  • Facilitate the flow of information between the two hemispheres of the brain
  • Reduce the effects of physical and chemical injury to the brain

Nootropic literally means "acting on the mind". It is a term given by Dr. Giurgea to the first substance found (Piracetam) to have beneficial effects in the treatment of memory loss, age related memory decline, lack of concentration etc.
One of the primary differences between Nootropics and other "memory enhancers" is that Nootropics have a beneficial effect upon the brain's Corpus Callosum. This is the area of the brain that joins the two hemispheres; it links the logical side with creative side, hence ying and yang. This may be the major reason why "creative" individuals and "brain" workers find they can accomplish much more while using Nootropics.

In a nutshell, Nootropics improve memory, cognitive thinking, sense of well-being, and increase one’s focus.

If his posts that I've seen in other places are evidence, then yes, he is.

I don't know if anyone noticed but a big chunck of the are the ingredients for Psychotropin, I just bought them in bulk to make my own. After experimenting with many different combo's I can say that I would only re-order Picamilon, Phenibut and Piractam from the nootropic portion of the list. As far as the ethnobotanicals I really enjoy the euphoric stimulation of the Areca catechu-Betel Nut Chew (Roja) and I'm going to try some other flavors before they run out at IAMSHAMAN, and maybe some whole nuts as well. The cacti are definitely a source of very relaxing alkaloids that seem to give anextra brightness to a nice sunny day . If you were seroius about your comments I would love to know what inspired such a compliment .

I dunno. I guess because of the way you write. Your posts are thorough and informative. And you explain in such a way that a "non-scientific" person such as myself can understand. My goodness, the ice cream recipe alone speaks volumes! I'm anxious to try it.

I take Neurostim by Scivation, and i usually take 300mg of ALA, lean green tea pills by primaforce, NAC by now, and vitamin c.

I usually just take half a serving of neurostim and all of the other things on most days for general mental focus at school and studying, and sometimes when i need an extra kick i'll take an ECA pill with it. I find that ECA pills do the most for me as far as energy and motivation and focus goes. Sometimes i get a bit sketchy on them and my focus drifts, but for the most part i get really amped and determined and extremely productive.

I guess you could call 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenethylamine a "nootropic"

I've used piracetam and phenibut, the piracetam (stacked with choline) worked well for me at higher doses (7g+) but got a little expensive as no one sells it in NZ and I have to BS with customs to let it through. The phenibut was great as a relaxant/nootropic and I'm a much more mellow person while on it without feeling drowsy/drugged like you can with benzo's or GABA agonists

Also tried kava, various amphetamines, 5-HTP and some SSRI+NRI's

I might check out some of the compounds on your list Doc, if only we had cacti in NZ.. I'd definitely cook up some mescaline
