Ultimate Nutrition sued

(Soelden, Austria) - An Austrian skier has hired an American sports lawyer to sue a Connecticut dietary supplement company that he blamed for a positive doping test.

Hans Knauss was banned for 18 months last year after testing positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone. He's hired Los Angeles Attorney Howard Jacobs, who has represented several athletes in doping cases.

Knauss is taking action against Farmington, Conn.-based Ultimate Nutrition.

Jacobs represented American swimmer who sued the same company over a failed drug test in 2003. Earlier this year, a court in California awarded Vencill damages of nearly $600,000 against Ultimate Nutrition.

Knaus says he wants to recover the money he's lost from damage to his reputation. He says he hasn't figured out how much that will be.

Knauss retired in July after the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the International Ski Federation's 18-month ban.

Knaus says he took the supplement for five years but had never tested positive and trusted the product.

I hate these people.

Always blamming the supplements...maybe he tested positive for a reason?

I tend to agree with you but Ultimate Nutrition has had problems like this in the past.
