Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 97 | i want to discuss about the different aspects of supplement companys and supplements, mainly to help newbs out so that they dont get ripped off #1 Blend look out for the "matrix" or "killer" blend. im talkin about something like this "super nox blend" 3200 mg AKKG, caffeine, Di-creatine malate, creatine mono, Citrulline malate -notice how some companys dont like to put the amount in some of the ingredients. that is because they like to high dose the cheap stuff, and low dose the more expensive stuff. THey might not even put enough of an ingredient, but just put it on there to make it look better. #2 Serving size THis is very important. It's simple, look on the label at servings per container. This way, you can compare 2 similar supplements and see which one has more servings, and is more cost effective. Also, make sure your getting a reasonable amount, so it will last you a while. example : supplement 1 - $30 with 60 servings supplement 2 - $25 with 40 servings - the better buy here is supplement 1, its 5 bux more, but your gettin a lot more servings. #3 Look out for rediculous claims "Gain 30 pounds of muscle in one month". THat is impossible, and false advertising just so you can buy it. My advise is, dont pay attention or believe ANY claims, no matter how believable or not they are. These are usually the companys you should never buy from. Look out for the before and after pics too, they are misleading. #4 Look out for very cheap supplements if you go to walmart or some kind of taccy drug store or something, if the product is REALLY cheap, then it is probably low quality. #5 WHere to buy your supplements 9 times out of 10, supplements bought online are cheaper than stores. Always buy your supplements online. There are some exceptions because sometimes they are about the same price or might be on sale. Believe me, your wallet will thank you for buying your supps online. #6 where to start Creatine Monohydrate - THE best non-hormonal supplement to increase strength and performance Multivitamin - A must Whey protein - Make sure it is Whey and not Soy Flax/Fish oil - Good fats are essential to your diet Pre workout energizer - dont reccomend this to starters, wait until you have a few months of lifting under your belt #7 Supplement companys to buy from (IMO and many others) Optimum nutrition - best whey in town Controlled labs Dymatize Cytosport -These are my fav, there are many companys out there that are just as good in quality and price #8 There is no "MAGIC" pill no supplement is going to make you a 250 pound 5% BF beast. You must understand that training and diet is the key, with supplements being a S-U-P-P-L-E-M-E-N-T. This goes back to the false claims, a supplement will help you achieve your goals, but you cant achieve them with no diet/training. #9 patents and Clinical studies A company will simply try to patent their product to give it the title "patent pending". patent pending means it hasnt been patented yet, so it really means nothing, other than the fact that it is going through the process of patenting, but not there yet. Look out for the companys who say "studys show X raises strength". MANY times, they take studies and references from others. Very few companys research and study their supps themselves

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 97 | #10 "Joe said XXX is an awesome product and he gained 40 pounds!!" -Don't buy a product just because your buddy said it is great and it worked very well for him. What works for some, may not work for others. #11 Dont even think about it... You probably know what this is about. Take a wild guess. Yup, you guessed right. I don't care if your 30 or 25, If you just started lifting weights and dieting/supplementing etc., dont touch AAS/pro-hormones. **There are a lot of articles and info about steroids, soak up all this info like a sponge. If your going to do them.... 1. Make sure you go to your doctor regularly 2. Make sure you're around 25 years old 3. Before you do anything, post what your planning to do on a forum, you'll be amazed at how many people are willing to help you out. #12 Reviews and Logs Reading reviews and Logs on supplements can be helpful. Although, like stated before, what works for some, may not work for others. You'll be surprised at how many bad and good reviews a supplement will get, and it should steer you to it or away.
