| IMPC Contestant | Not really sure where to post this, but I'll post it here... In 2 weeks I have swim season starting up again (varsity). My original plan was to just cruise through the season with minimal attendance (I get 1/2 attendance for lifting in the morning, I go 4 days a week... so I'd only have to swim 2 or maybe 3 days a week) but I decided I'm not going to half ass it. I used to be a real good swimmer, and I feel I have some potential in this sport... I made WPIAAL's and varsity team my first year swimming. This will be my second. I feel that if I put my all into it, I can be a good sprinter... but this is something I want to talk to my coach about. Spriting and lifting kind of go hand in hand. They both use fast twitch muscle fibers, and involve explosive swimming, but swimming is only for 25 seconds (for 50meter) and 56 (for 100 meter). I think lifting could go with this. Now, I could just lift and expect some gains while improving my swimming, but I want to continue my serious bulk and not take it easy. I want muscle gains and to drop my swim times. I decided to aid in recovery i'm going to: Stretch reguarly, eat 5000 calories (or try), take contrast showers, and try to get 9-10 hours of sleep each night. I feel this won't be enough. I think that some sort of supplement will really help me recover and grow. Since my birthday is coming up, I can use birthday money to buy a large quantity of some supplement. I was thinking either megadosing X-Tend or megadosing bulk BCAAs.... Any other suggestions? Thanks

| IMPC Contestant | So, if I was to take Xtend... I would need to megadose 6 servings a day for recovery? That would mean that a 1035g tub would only last 15 days? 50 bucks for 15 days ![]()

| IMPC Contestant | No? Ok. Just seems like alot of ppl on bb.com megadose the stuff. That makes it alot more practical....

SRY, I JUST HAD TO RANT.... anyway, you dont need to mega-dose the xtend. BCAA's are a good option also consider glutamine peptides to aid in recovery.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | I would suggest MAN CLOUT and Body Octane, though wait for the new formula of BO to be released. Both amazing products, scientifically backed with great feedback. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 15 | Hybrid you don't need to take huge amounts of BCAA's like Xtend for it to be affective. IMO 3 servings per day or 30-40 grams is plenty. Take it pre-during- and postworkout and u should be fine. Justin Quote:

| IMPC Contestant | Alright, thanks. Would it still be a good idea if I told you I lift at 6AM and swim at 3PM? My guess is yes, but just making sure! I also will be sure to load up on protein and carbs both pre and post both!

| IMPC Contestant | Along with my question up there, should I take Xtend on my off days? I'm assuming yes (I usually have the weekends off), but just making sure!

| IMPC Contestant | Ok, thanks justin.... Should I take (during workout/swim days) the Xtend during both? I can do that. Like drink it while lifting and while swimming.
