Questions about company reps on boards...

What are they? What do they do aside from pimp their company? Do they get paid? And if so, how much?

I wouldn't necessarily say "pimp" their company or products .. but they are a bunch of knowledgeable guys who help field questions regarding the products that the company they represent have to offer.

They also select testers and oversee testing for new products on the boards. They will be the first ones to drop info regarding their next or new products as well.

In some cases the reps may be involved with product ideas, r&d and marketing, etc.

Do they get paid? .. no .. most don't unless they are on payroll for the company they respresent .. which most aren't .. most get supplied product in exchange for their assistance.

When I first met a rep over at BB.com, I was sure that they were only there to "pimp", "exploit", "advertise", and "sale" their products. Why else would they waste their time in "helping" people out?!...right?
It wasn't until these reps began to educate and knowledge me on their supplements/products that I stopped being sooo narrow minded and gave them an opportunity to convince me of their true intentions and motives.
These days, not only do I trust and use their information, but I admire most of their hard work and intelligence. It's not very easy to learn so much and have to correctly answer every questions and concern.

Will there be advertisement? YES. Is that the purpose and priority? NO.

As a rep I am here to educate, knowledge and assist others with, in this case, Anabolic Xtreme products and supplements. Will I suggest and urge the use of our products, of course, but I personally don't do it for an increase in AX sales...I do this becuase I have trust and loyalty in most AX products. Why else would I be so interested in becoming a company rep for AX, if the company produces terrible and unuseful products, then my job would be meaningless! I accepted this position for a reason and I have principles and standards to live by.

I am not driving a luxory car, live in a mansion and don't attend to a private college...so it's NOT for the money. If I get free supplements, what the heck am I gonna do with 30 Superdrols?!?! Sell them? They're $20 bucks at AtomicNutrition, again, useless.

Now there will be(are) reps that ONLY pimp they're products. Can't say too much about that, only try to determine who's who and what is the true interest / pupose of that rep.

I do not pimp, and actually resent the statement that it is what company reps do. I answer questions based on my companies products. Now there are SOME reps that do a lot of pimping, but I don't believe you will find any posts or threads started by myself or Phosphate Bond since we signed on with Scivation that "pimp" their products.

The majority of reps are out to help others and help out the company they are affiliated with. There are some that pimp but they usually get bashed so bad they end up not posting anymore.

I honestly can't stand reps who talk their products up like they are the end all to supplements. EVERY damn post of theirs is whoring the product. One or two here and there is fine.

People with knowledge of the product (and not just what the label says) are awesome. Krnza and MASSIVE are probably getting annoyed at my numerous PM's but always lend a helping hand. G-Diesel is the same way.

yeah, most reps I've dealt with are very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm not accusing anyone of 'over pimping'.... but pimping is good and is too be expected. Pimping doesn't necessarily need to be a negative thing. I pimp a south pole hoody the same way robboe pimps the basic cuts stack.

Store brand chicken and store brand natty PB > tyson and skippy :p

No offense meant to the skippy and tyson fanboys.
