Default PWO supplementing, antioxidants.... do YOU take them?

Just curious what other people's thoughts and behaviors are on this. My PWO shake is usually 25mg of protein, some fast acting carbs (dextrose/maltodextrin), and 1g vit c, 400iu vit e, 99mg potassium, and 400mg green tea extract.

Do you think that's enough to quell the free radicals? What do you take?

I think that is pretty good, I usually go with 1 tab of lean green, 400 IU Vit E, 1g of Vit C,of course along with oats and whey isolate. Not a big fan of dex and matlo, but use what works best for you

Whey, oats, 1g vit C, I've used 200 mg r-ALA with some success, Vit E, and Lean Green.

IMO antioxidants are very important, and I've only learned that recently. Up until about 2 months ago, I took Vit C and r-ALA PWO because knowledgeable people said it was good to do, but I had no idea why. Thankfully, Chuck from Get Diesel explained why it was important and I really began to study it. I know put it ahead of creatine in importance for PWO.

I always add some fruit to my pre and pwo CHO mix. The majority of the carbs are kept complex but I have a noticed a big difference in recovery since doing this. Other than that, I take 1 cap lean green pre wo, and 250mg of ALA/K-R-ALA after my workout.

Ha! I am not a biological free radical, just a political free radical.

I have 2 scoops of whey protein (46 grams) with water or milk PWO.

But, I take these anti-oxidants pre-workout:

2-3 cups of green tea
alfafa juice exctact caps
Green barley grass juice caps
Vitamin C 1000
blueberries or strawberries (on my oatmeal)

I also have a health drink in the a.m. that includes:
cranberries
one other fruit (banana, apples, grapefruit, oranges)
royal jelly (the queen bee's food)
Knox gelatin
Various anti-oxidant herbs
green tea

I'm big on the PWO A/O's. Here's what I'm currently taking:

immediately
1g Vit C
1000IU Vit E
Glucophase XR
1100mg hawthorn berry

15 min later
750mg NAC
650mg Green Tea
piece of fruit

I'm thinking about buying an AO formula like Scivations, or I might just add a few more bulk ingredients to my regimine.

During a workout your body produces more free radicals which damage tissue. Antioxidants are very important for an active person, especially one of your age VS.

The reason they call it fatty acid oxidation is just that.....fats are oxidized. Additionally, the entire process of converting glucose to ATP, Heat, and water is a damaging process in the long term (lifetime). Combine this with the output of NO increased by workouts, another potent free-radical, and you have a pretty hostile PWO environment for cellular functioning.

Products like Lean Green, Glucophase XR, NOxidant, NAC, and vitamins C/E are good on a regular basis.....post workout they're ideal.
