Mega-dosing BCAA's

So back before I saw the light and switched over here from bb.com, I remember Beast talking a lot about megadosing BCAA's...have any of you guys tried it? It seems awfully expensive, and unless the gains are good I'm not gonna bother with it.

Yup...I pretty much dropped all supps and just taking normal vits and protein and bcaa's. So far so good. I love the endurance, recovery, pumps, and I am getting more size in my arms which is nearly impossible to do.

I tried for a while, liked it, but I don't want to waste alot of money on supplements.

I take 2-4 servings of BCAA's every day, but not alot.

I take about 5-8 servings of SciVation XTEND a day

I use 8 scoops of Xtend mixed in half a gallon of water during my w/o.

so how much is this costing you guys a month? Xtend is like $50 for a kilo, which is 180 scoops. So if you take 8 scoops per workout, thats like $45 a month on Xtend, assuming 20 workouts per month. If you buy bulk from ********, its $40 per kilo, so that winds up being about $35 a month.

How do BCAA's taste plain? How do you guys flavor them? I'm intrigued by the results people are getting but I fear for my budget

It didn't cost me anything .. Marc from Scivation sent me a free kilo. :bigthumbu

But now I'm almost out.

I'm not sure how they taste plain, but not too well from what I've heard.

I've read guys suggesting to mix plain BCAA's with Crystal Light.

thats something to think about...crystal light powder is about as cheap as sand. :bigthumbu

i was thinking that maybe some BSL flavoring might help, but i dunno if thats just for protein or what. although, i suspect it might be more economical to just use crystal light.

i'll do some more poking around and see what i come up with. stay tuned.

Crystal Light is fecking expensive unless you go to Costco and only buy the Lemon flavor

just use kool aid mix. that stuff it pretty cheap and can make anything taste good. i have some in my Ready4War container currently.

I'll have to go double check, but the last time I was at Sam's i thought i saw it for pretty cheap...but then again, i have bad eyes so... :banghead:

I like universal uni-liver. Cheap source of bcaas. Gotta start slowly on them though, or you'll have gas bad enough to kill all living things in a 30 ft radius.

man i get that just from my protein/fiber intake...i once cracked one off in the shower and had to get out because it smelled so awful.

Yes, uni-liver is very effective, but you must introduce your system to it slowly. Start out by taking 2 tabs with each meal. Eventually you can work up to pretty much whatever you want. I can take up to 32 a day now without much of a problem. For anyone looking to megadose BCAAs, this really is the cheapest method.

I've been looking into that watermellon flavored stuff by sciavation though, looks like a killer product as well.

i just picked up some of the grape stuff...hope its as good as Substance otherwise i'm screwed...a kilo is a lot.
