| Amateur | http://www.bulkpowders.co.uk Is the website I use. I don't mind spending some good money on it if it's actually going to work. I recently bought some "cheap" protien powder from that site and me and my friend both used it and it seemed to have little to no effect. If you can reccomend some that you guys actually know works. That would be great. Thanks alot.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | What you really need to understand, is exactly what whey protein powder "is". Plain and simple, it's nothing more than food. As bodybuilders and weekend warriors we drink whey protein as a means of quickly absorbed protein. Liquid foods like protein shakes can be assimilated into the blood stream in as fast as 20 minutes. Where as eating a piece of steak may take more than an hour. Also ingesting fat with protein or eating Proteins that have a heavier molecular weight / size will slow the process even further. Whey protein is micronized. It is a small particle that can easily be broken down and passed through the wall of the intestine, and involves little to know digestion time in stomach bile. What can you expect to "happen" from whey protein? Really not much. It's just food ![]() There is an optimal time during exercise and up to an hour after intense exercise where protein synthesis and nutrient partioning is ideal for building muscle. That is when you want to pound down the whey protein Any effect it has is something that builds up through time with proper diet and training.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 52 | Well put, the protien should be takedn A.S.A.P after the workout, so ur tired and hurting muscles can suck up all that nutrient goodness and use the protien to help rebuild the muscle fiber, one other note, if your not taking an suppliment for BCAA's, i suggest you make sure the whey protien you buy if enriched with them, otherwise i recommend xtend, i heard about it on this forum, went out and bought it, and i love it.
