Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | It's dirt cheap and close to 0 cal I ran across it when looking for low carb food products. Supposedly stevia is also healthy in terms of antioxidants and nonsuch.Maybe I will. Some reviews say it has a bitter after taste though.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 53 | Go to Costco and buy a huge box of Splenda. Best artificial sweetener EVER. Stevia is OK but doesn't taste quite as natural. It'll definitely help your sugar cravings.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 163 | Never used it by itself but it was in a protein powder i used a while back... cant remember which one off the top of my head but it did seem to give it a bit of a sweeter taste. edit: it was the old EAS 100% protein w/ stevia... like i said it had a slightly sweeter different taste than the normal but i've never used it with anything else.

| Amateur | skelooth, have you read up on pogue's thread? It's a great read if you haven't done so. Personally, I bought NOW Stevia and was indifferent. They clumped up and the taste was a bitter-sweet, if that makes any sense.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | I've never used bulk stevia. But I've never disliked products I've had that contain stevia. I usually use Sucralose (splenda) if I'm looking for an artificial sweetener. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 184 | Stevia is great Skelz...I use to buy a huge container of it...last me forever. It's good for cooking but, I'd mix it with splenda if you are baking. I use to sweeten kool-aid with it. A little goes a long way. Just don't overdo it cause foods/liquids can get quite bitter...bleck. ~D~ oh and I noticed that I didnt get cravings when I used Stevia as oppose to Splenda. Just my 2 cents.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 10 | Stevia is great, but I think it is way to overpriced. I used to get Stevia Plus (it also contains fiber) came in packets (100 for 8$ at walmart)

http://www.splenda.com/page.jhtml?id...alorie.inc#q12 What is SPLENDAź No Calorie Sweetener? SPLENDAź No Calorie Sweetener contains sucralose (SPLENDAź Brand Sweetener), the no calorie sweetener made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar, with no unpleasant aftertaste. SPLENDAź No Calorie Sweetener can be used virtually anywhere sugar is used. It can also be used in cooking and baking in a variety of recipes. Like many no and low calorie sweeteners, each serving of SPLENDAź No Calorie Sweetener contains a very small amount of common food ingredients, e.g., dextrose and/or maltodextrin, for volume. Because the amount of these ingredients is so small, SPLENDAź No Calorie Sweetener still has an insignificant calorie value per serving and meets FDA's standards for "no calorie" sweeteners. And FWIIW I have tried stevia and it's okay, but it's a little expensive. | |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | Stevia is the best non-caloric sweetener IMO. But you gotta get the good stuff. NOW Foods sells a very clean-tasting stevia extract, 1oz for about $7. And this will last for quite a while too seeing as how stevia is 300x sweeter than sugar. As a warning, a lot of stevia you find in grocery stores is total crap. First it's diluted with stuff like FOS, but more importantly it is a bad extract and doesn't taste as clean.
