Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | I ordered protein powder yesterday... Thinking, oh, it will be here just in time when I run out of this cheap walmart crap. WRONG. I have 40g of protein left, and UPS wants to take it's sweet time and not deliver for another FIVE DAYS...... So what happens? I have to WASTE MORE MONEY on more cheap protein, meanwhile i have FIFTEEN POUNDS in the mail....... **** There is something strange about AI's location that UPS takes an extra two days to deliver to me. Every single other retailer I've ever ordered from has ALWAYS been 3 days. Even in December....

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 3 | I had to do the same thing, I am waiting on my 50 lbs of WPC, and in the meantime I had to purchase 2 lbs of ON to hold me until then. I would jsut use whole food in place of whey for the two times I do use it during the day, but I dont always have time for that. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | My big issue is PWO nutrition. I'm going to be lifting 4 times in the next 5 days, and my PWO nutrition is 2 scoops of whey with some dextrose+maltodextrin. I'm annoyed. I suppose I can just eat... a .... PWO meal of some type? A can and a half of tuna maybe? This sucks. I don't have money to be wasting....

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | But what about the all important PWO shake? The very staple of a proper weight lifting supplementation???? Should I drink raw eggbeaters/pastaurized egg whites??

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | That's exactly what I don't want to do. It's 16-18 dollars for 30 scoops.... and I am really broke right now.... nothing new as of late, but I have 15lbs in the mail, it is such a huge waste of money. But if there is no other option I guess I really have no choice...

| IronMass Vip | Lets weigh the cost of steak/eggwhites/tuna to tide you over till it gets there v/s the cost of buying a smaller amount to tide you over. Of course, you go through that stuff like I go through oxygen, I wouldn't doubt that you could run through a small canister in 3 days.

As a bodybuilder, there are several times during the day that you need an easily and quickly digested protein source. Fast-digesting protein foods help build up amino acid reserves in the bloodstream; these reserves can help offset protein catabolism during hardcore training sessions. Posttraining, you need fast-digesting protein sources because the aminos quickly reach your bloodstream, helping to push your body back into an anabolic state. Breakfast is also an excellent time to take in fast-digesting proteins. After several hours without food, your body is low on aminos and consuming quickly absorbed protein sources will help spare your muscles. Bodybuilders traditionally have chosen egg whites and whey as their prime sources of fast-digesting protein. Many types of seafood, though, are also fairly easy to digest. These include scallops, shrimp, crab, haddock, cod, pollack, snapper, halibut and white tuna. A plate of grilled shrimp at 6 AM may not sound very appealing, but you can't go wrong choosing from among the food listed. Consider a crab or shrimp omelet for breakfast. Try a piece of broiled whitefish before or after you train. Add some dextrose and your good to go. ![]() | |

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | A men, people over react when it comes to protein. It don't have to come from a shake.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 62 | Amen to the general concensus. My PWO is always a whole food meal... most often salmon and sweet potato or red potato. I think your results wouldn't change at all, maybe they'd even be better, if you get all your protein from whole foods. Most people just don't have the time to prepare all that meat, and eating tuna gets old... whey is always there instantly and there's a lot you can do with it. Protein shakes are only absolutely necessary if you utilize them during your workout, which I do... obviously you can't very easily mow down on a steak or a salmon filet between sets.
