Controlled Labs questions.

As many of you may have noticed, there is a new company garnering a lot of attention, both on bodybuilding.com and elsewhere. This company is Controlled Labs. Though a marketing blitzkrieg of free products, endless pimpage, and proprietary blends this company has taken a line of relatively simple products and become the mainstay of bodybuilding.com and many teens supplement arsenals. The question is why? To the educated customer, there is nothing special about their line, and their tactics appear more shady by the day.

As any thread regarding CL business practices on bb.com is instantly closed, a group of us has opted to form the following list of questions which we would like discussed and if possibly, answered by Controlled Labs themselves. The intent is not to bash. The intent is to discover some facts.

#1) Why has no one seen pu12 or tank publicly? Our group has it under good authority that certain members of the bb community have even asked to meet “Pu12” on trips to Minnesota. These requests were ignored, despite being good “E-buddies”. Additionally, why was it so difficult to obtain Tank’s real first name? Why has Mr. Aries himself never met either Pu12 or Tank? Why will Aries be attending the Miami show on his own?

#2) What kind of company that is 'new' has the type of funding they have for insurance on products like they do? What is the R+D process and why do the CoAs for multiple ingredient products only cover one constituent? (6-7 new products out already, 4 more on the way?)

#3) Is "tank" the owner of Controlled Labs, if not, is it an incorporation? Who legally owns the company, and by that what is the person's actual name? What kind of contact details are these: Registrant: Controlled Labs 1333A North Ave #423 New rochelle, NY 10804 US 201-735-7144. A New York Address with a New Jersey contact number. I have looked for information on this address and have found nothing.

#4) Why is the company protected exclusively on bb.com. Both here and on other sites it is perfectly fair to question a company, yet on bb.com threads are frequently locked any time questions arise that Pu12 or Tank may not wish to answer? Kind of interesting that the company should ONLY be a top seller at bb.com.

#5) Why, when questioned, does the company stoop to underhanded tactics such as belittlement, harassment, and threatening to expose the name/phone number/address of a 15 year old who had no involvement in this? [see attachement Here: http://www.mindandmuscle.net/forum/i...e=post&id=4343

Finaly, be advised……Controlled Labs is currently fostering a “street team” on their website of persons who will be compensated (either financially or in free product) for “pimping their line.” These people are not qualified in any way to make recommendations, have no say in the day-to-day goings on of the company, and are simply in it for the “prize.” In an industry where innovation is so rare and knockoffs are the rule instead of the exception, this type of “advertising” is akin to the blind leading the blind.

We await any answers or discussion.

I will say, this thread will be very closely monitored. I am aware of your attempts to spam this same thread over many forums and I am giving you a very short leash on this one. These questons are valid and answers would be nice, which is why initially this thread will remain open. But your multiple usernames and other rule breaking that happened at other forums will not happen here.

I don't get it, why should we care?

Who cares who owns it and how they can afford to run it and they can come out with many products? That's a good thing. Why question it?

And they have board reps who try sell their product. Is this supposed to be news? There's board reps everywhere, and all the real ones are compensated somehow.

If you have a conspiracy theory out with it. I'm not gonna try puzzle together what you're getting at.

I think they have every right to run their business the way they see fit, they dont force people to use their supplements.

I think you have too much time on your hands, Maybe a good workout will take some of that stress away.

I think this is a VALID thread with GOOD QUESTIONS, but don't get carried away in the way you handle this.

OK, so be it. What they're doing is working, any working business practice is a theory to be taken by other businesses about.

A strong investor can do miracles for a company, maybe the owner HAS money and is investing it into a solid market to build a solid business. Ever think of that?

Domain registration WHOIS is a joke.

The registrant could be their webmaster who is in a different state.

BB.com is protecting it's investors, they're nothing without controversy ... ie: prohormones. On top of that, with the threads usually breaking out into FLAME WARS .. I see why they get closed.

Now if it was me, I would call his mother and advise her of what her son is doing online.

Big deal, that's their way of promotion and marketing without dropping thousands on magazine ads and booths.

MY CONCLUSION

Controlled Labs business practices WORK. YOU are doing FREE MARKETING for their company, you're propagating controversial topics that get the companies name out more. When products are found to be GOOD PRODUCTS at CHEAP PRICES, and people plastering their name everywhere because of controversy ... it's only HELPING them not hindering them.

I only intended to ask relevant questions that are of concern to me and many. Unfortunately at bb.com the thread gets closed/deleted when anyone mentions CL.

Aren't all the supplement companies subject to the same type of scrutiny? When DS underdosed the Rebound XT they got tons of it. Companies are asked to provide COAs of products, etc. I think as a consumer it is fair to know what type of company you are buying from. I think the spamming, etc by the company has been drilled in the ground and some people believe the practices are somewhat immoral and degrade the forum, which I agree with.

That's a fair assumption there, but as long as a company delivers on their promise of a quality product for a low price, why should anyone care?

BB.com did the same thing when they released Higher Power, especially when lab results came back for the CEE
