Your right but what I should have asked if anyone has taken it pre workout and saw a difference.
Again though your right its cheap enough no harm in giving it a shot.

Thanks

Do some research, some supplements should be taken at other times and under certain circumstances. Examples: ALCAR, NAC You don't just take those supplements pre-workout and see if you feel a difference. I take the ALCAR on an empty stomach before breakfast and dinner with 400IU of vitamin E.

Thats true it doesnt work that way for some supplements which is why I asked about ALA . However Alcar I also take only pre workout and find it adds to my workout other than that never take it.

I seem to get better "concentration" with alcar just better workout . So alcar I disagree with you on but your right many dont just work pre workout.

Infact taking alcar more than that effects as far as "concentration" went seemed to fade . Granted some take it for other reasons thus might take it daily for me daily was no good, not needed .

If I took ALA pre-workout I'd collapse in the gym

Any insulin mimicker would drop your glucose count, say goodbye to energy before a workout.. Only way this would work is:

1. Take ala 15mins before pre-workout meal..
2. Eat 30-40g carbs per 200mg ala (600mg= 90 to 120g carbs)
3. Take another ala dose pwo with cee drink, no carbs yet
4. 20mins later, drink fast-acting carbs..

The idea is simple.. The onset of sensitivity due to circulating insulin causes hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).. The ala causes the sensitivity, all glucose in the blood gets shuttled off to any open receptor (even in fat).. The carbs in the following meal stave off hypo, loading muscles and adipose with glorious glucose.. When you workout, you burn off abit of the glucose stored.. The second ala dose with cee keeps what's left of the stored glycogen in tissues, more of a dramatic effect in muscle since cee doesn't go into fat..

Carbs after that dose once again feed the bloodstream before hypo sets in..

I love to take antioxydants before a workout. But not ALA.

Vitamin C and Grape seed extract are my preworkout anti-oxidants but I take many more with my meals. They make a big difference in how I feel and in my size gains.

same here on the vitamin C.. I feel a lot better when I take it, and I almost never get colds.. I had stopped taking it for a few months in the past, and had my first cold in like 3 years.. so I will not stop taking it anymore.. it is cheap, and works...

This is the main reason I've never brought myself to experiement with the famous 'stimulant potentiating' effects of GXR- for me the timing seems just too fiddly pre-workout and I'm sensitive to the effects of ALA.

Alpha is an incredibly important anti -ox. But NOT before W/O. Its great for multiple health reasons, including being better for liver health than milk thistle... and heart health also. But its especially important for helping shuttle creatine to the worked muscles, Post W/O.
