Is there any way i can make it at home........or can i just drink the whey for the same effect?

First off welcome to the site.

there is no way you are going to make whey at home, unless you have a lab, and some expensive filtering eqipment. It would be cheaper to buy it, than to make it in small batches anyway...

Whey protein when bought in bulk is probably the best bang for your buck as far as protein is concerned... about 28 cents a sevring..

Succio is right...on a cost-per-gram basis, whey protein powder is a much better source of protein than steak/fish/chicken/etc. You can get a 5 lb container of whey powder for $28 shipped, the stuff really isn't that expensive.

IMO. less than 15mg is optimal. Not many proteins achieve that, but some do.

Here are some:

Chicken breasts are probably your cheapest alternative. Depending on your location.. I can get boneless, skinless chicken breasts for as low as 89 cents a pound here.. which is about 144 grams of protein.

You neen 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight to build muscle.

5 boiled egg whites is about 20 grams. If you are 150, and want to take in 1.5 grams of protien per pound you will need to take in 225 grams of pro
