Lie on your side with both legs bent in running position. Bring the bottom leg toward your chest and then bring the top one back toward your buttocks, so that the running position of your legs is exaggerated as possible. Hold for 30 seconds then flip sides and repeat

its so great for your quads

PNF stretching is awesome for flexibility gains. I've been doing them for a week and I'm already seeing some terrific results.

I hate stretching but I have to do a ton of it for lower body to maintain flexibility for martial arts.

Straight-leg deadlifts on a platform so as to avoid plate-to-floor collisions. Allows for a full stretch of the hamstrings and lower back, and everything else for that matter.

It's aka "proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation." What it is is basically alternating between stretching a muscle passively and isometrically contracted, to increase muscle length by targeting nerve receptors.
