Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | An RDL allows a little knee flexion. It's not required, but it's not something you'd avoid. That is, if you do an RDL and you bend your knees a little, nobody will say anything about it. Whereas in the SLDL, your knees should maintain whatever angle you start with. You know? |

When your knees bend, that's knee "flexion". Flexion is the opposite of extension, and leg extensions straighten the leg, so leg flexion, UN-straightens the leg. So when I say that a RDL is a SLDL but with some knee flexion, it just means, an RDL allows you to bend your legs a little. That's it. If I'm going to do a SLDL by the book, my legs don't flex at the knees. They're not hyperextended, but they don't bend any extra. If I'm going to do an RDL, I still keep my legs pretty straight, but I allow some bend as I flex at the hips. | |

| Pro Stature | K, in the SLDL vid, he bends the knees a bit and that's what I do, but for the RDL, isn't that too much bending? |
