Cool Not Stuck... But...

Well, I'm not stuck.. but I'm currently bouncing between 190 - 195 pounds... and my last weighted pullup workout was with 20 kg's (44 pounds) - got 2 sets of 8 and only 5 on the last set... I try to get 3 sets of 8...

I've also been cycling my hand position... One workout I do all three sets with my palms facing out... as in a chin-up style.. The next workout, I do three sets with my palms facing each other - hammer gryp style... then then next workout, I do them with my palms facing me - I guess that's the pure pullup style?? ... I just started doing thys as I've heard that each hand position can work different areas of the back... So I'm curious if anyone else alters their hand positions...

Peace..~G

How do you guys do your reps?

I go ALL the way down, pause for a moment, then pull myself back up. Pretty slow cadence.

Cool Constant Tension...

I do these on an assisted pull-up machine... but I pull the pin out, so I'm doing my bodyweight plus whatever weight I've added... I'm not jerking myself up and down (I can't phrase thys any better, really, I tried... ) ... to get reps... but at the bottom, I get a great stretch... but I don't thynk I go ALL the way down... where I'm just hanging... I try to keep constant tension on my lats as I go thru the range of motion... I'm an older young guy.. and I gotta save my shoulders...

Peace..~G

Behind the neck or to the chest? I only add 25lbs, need to build that up.

I think you have chin-ups and pull-ups reversed. Palms facing away from your body is a pull-up grip. These are the hardest to do for most people. Palms facing toward you is a chin-up grip (typically the easiest for people to do). Palms facing each other is hammer grip.

I alternate hammer grip and pull-up grip within a workout, i.e., 1 set of pull-up grip, then a set of hammer, then a set of pull-up.
