| IMPC Contestant | I really want to do Pullups in my back/bi routine (and they are in spytech's HSHT which I will start as soon as my schedule allows for me to hit it right) but they hurt my left shoulder which has been screwed up by swimming. I'm trying to do some rotator cuff exercises to strengthen it, but until I get it 100% (or if I don't) what exercises would you suggest to sub-in for pullups? I really feel I need width to my back, and I was hoping wide grip pullups would do it for me. My current back routine looks like this: Deads (3 sets) Barbell Rows (3 sets medium griped) Pulldowns (3 sets wide, 1 closed) Cable Rows (4 sets wide, 1 closed) Is this sufficient (I replaced pullups with pulldowns because for whatever reason they don't hurt as much, still feel it tweaked a little) for a sub? Also what about when I hit spytech's HSHT (spytech your opinion would be gold here lol): (NOTE: This is overload week) BB Rows x3 CG Pulldowns x1, x1 RPx3 Weighed Chins x1, x1 RPx3 Seated Rows x1 RPx3 Deads x3 Thanks to any and all that reply.

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/attach...hmentid=198413 Just depress the elbows downward from this point. This exercise takes the arms out of the movement and really isolates the lats.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | Try doing pullups with a resistance band. This should take some of the load off of the bottom of the rep (the hardest part) You'll never get good at pullups if you dont do pullups. |

| Amateur | I tried to do pullups to start with, but wasn't strong enough and got frustrated. I continued to do wide grip pulldowns, narrow grip pds, etc and I've built up my strength so now I can manage them. |
