Question Stomach Vacuum

The instructions here show a progression to 60-second sets. Is the breath being held for the entire rep? I tried it on Monday and could barely hold 20 seconds. But my obliques feel damn good. {Thanks Josie!}

Yea for me the breathing was always the big issue. I didn't have a problem with the sucking my gut in part.

When I do them I hold it in for as long as I can while breathing. 4-5 min is pretty easy now.

The only time i find dificulty breathing is when i try to suck my belly button through my back, but otherwise i have no troubles.

I've seriously got to start doing these things religiously.....I need to get rid of the distention.

What's a good number of times per week to do them?

Actually... Stomach vacuums are amazing BUT you have to hold your breath fot them to be more efficient! It does work while breathing but not as much.

So, breath out while sucking your stomach in as much as you can (TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT is the key) ... then count to 10 slowly (in your head) while holding your breath... do this 8-10 times DAILY!

And talk to me next week You'll already be happy

Thanks for the advice Josie, I'll give it a shot! My stomach is so bad. At the belly button my waist measures like 37 inches, but my BF isn't all that high

I love this workout and yes - it is excellent!!!! Thanks for the reminder of it - I do them and then I kind of forget about them!

what an interesting exercise. never even heard of it. And my gut's distended as ****, so im gonna give this a shot. Its not going to cause significant microtrauma tho right? im on a SD rite now

When your stomach is distended, it looks big and can look swollen, as if you have eaten too much food.

quick question, will this exercise cause microtrauma, or actually lower bodyfat significantly? or does it just change the position of the abs?
