Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 15 | Hay, today is my first day posting here in quite a while. Standing calf raises while holding the bar like a deadlift.... anyone else do them? I like doing them because I can do them quite explosively, and I feel they may help condition that portion of cleans. I don't think it's anything SUPER special, but it makes for a good alternative to throw in the rotation of exercises.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | I dont see how you alternate with a bb (balance reason). I do them with a dumbell and stand on a block and hold a pillar for balance so I can go heavy.

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | if your worried about that portion of cleans, jump shrugs. ![]() I've done calf raises in the deadlift, not my favorite thing, but it works in a pinch

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 214 | i see what you're saying here...although i prefer to have the weight on my shoulders rather than my hands. I can do calf raises with way more than i can hold comfortably, so the smith machine is my best friend on calf day ![]()
