Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 3 | For some reason when im doing squats at around 135lbs, when I go down and start coming back up there is a burning sensation in the left side of my groin. Its not a lingering burn and I will usually be able to knock out around 8-10 reps before it starts. I know its got to be something with the amount of weight, and I know 135 isnt a lot, but I havent done a squat since i played high school football 8 years ago, and im pretty sure I wasnt doing them right back then. I know my form is corect now because ive had many different people watch me and tell me im doing them correctly, thats why i think it has to be something with the amount of weight. I am going to experiment more with this wednesday and see if maybe varying my form slightly will help, but I would like to know if anyone had this happen to them, or if anyone had any suggestions. I appreciate the help. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | i have had that problem doing lunges. never with squats though. I find that if I do more to "warm up", it doesn't happen, or at least not to the same extent. Usually I stretch a little more fully, and do a few bodyweight squats and lunges just to get everything ready to work. kind of like doing a bench or a deadlift and barbell row with just the bar to warm up on a chest or back day (respectively). I find this helps me a lot.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 3 | Hey thanks a lot MyT, I am really bad about not doing some warm-up reps so your probably right on, I will do some stretches/warm-ups wed and see how it goes. |

| Pro Stature | I sometimes still get that problem. But for me, it's not a burn, just a strain and it's usually my stance, foot angle and width apart. |

| Pro Stature | I'd make damn sure it isn't a hernia. Those are nothing to screw around with. I've had 2, one on each side. No fun at all I assure you.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 3 | yeah, that was the first thing i thought too, I thought a hernia was more of a permanent bulge/pain? but if you had the same symptons, I would really like to know. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 178 | Go to your doctor, and get it checked out.. if it is a hernia it is much better if you catch it early, when the tear is small. Your doc will know in 2 seconds weather you have one or not.. if that is not it then you could have just pulled your groin muscle which will just require some time to heal.... |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 3 | there is no pain when im not squatting though, and its not really a pain when I am doing them, its more of just a burning feeling that goes away as soon as I rack the weight. |

| Pro Stature | A "burning" sensation is usually associated with tendons and ligaments. I would still get it checked out by a Dr. Any GP will be able to tell you if it is a hernia. If the burning is lower than that, it may be the large tendon that runs on the inside of your leg in the groin area. Not sure what it is called. But while sitting, spread your legs and they are the ones on ether side of your sac and runs down the length of your leg. Check to see if maybe they are sore or tender. It may be you are not properly positioned when doing the squats.
