Recipes: 2 Rep Power: 96 | I actually use Bench Press, it really works my chest and I can feel it better then Dumbbells. Only thing I hate about Bench Press is the rotator cuff problems from it. Powerlifting right now too. |

| Pink Members | thanks for this thread! ive been doing flat benches ( and still kinda a newbie since ive only been lifting about 2 years) but i was starting to notice my shoulders hurting after doing mine....i think from now on i will stick to dumbbell flat benches and throw in inclines as well sometimes.....i love flies too so i will keep those.... as a woman, i am constantly on the look out for good free weight chest exercises that wont ruin my chest appearance...any suggestions on good moves for me.... taking into consideration that i dont want to lose my boobs? i see so many female bodybuilders that dont have a chest anymore that it kinda scares me. i dont have access to any pulley systems yet...just barbell and dumbbells. TIA |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | I still do barbell flat bench presses but I've had to stop temporarily because of a pec strain. Can't see stopping permanently unless I suffer a more debilitating injury because I see too much improvement from them. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | here's a list of exercises that i rank higher than flat barbell bench presses for chest development - dips pushups incline barbell bench presses incline db presses flat db presses hammer strength incline, flat, and decline presses machine flys atrainer flys incline and flat db flys i still occasionally do flat bench presses, i have to admit i sometimes want to see how much i can max out at. i'll also do flat bench presses for really high reps 25-30+ just for the hell of it, and wide grip bench presses with elbows flared (almost a guilllotine press) |

| IMPC Contestant | I don't know if it's because I use such a low weight (150lbs) or what, but nothing I have ever tried (well, decline hit my pecs pretty well too) has came close to the burn and pump that Flat BB Bench Press has given me. Perhaps once the weight gets higher I won't feel it, or perhaps I will get shoulder problems, but until then Flat BB Bench Press is the staple in my chest routine. I currently do dips, flat bb bench, and I switch decline/incline every other week.
